  1. Yea! A new one! Thank you for your help with the purple collards! They did great! Tough plants like dino kale! Tasty!

  2. We love your CREATIVE approach to gardening and how you share this so passionately with the community. Great to see that the air quality is improving! Our volunteer tomato plants saved us this season!

  3. Hi, I bet if you got some good grow lights you could drag a few chair totes into the house for the winter! I set up an indoor garden, with lights on timers, and so far its been great not to compete with the caterpillars, squash bugs and asian beetles, and I don't have to worry about extreme heat or cold… And we have voles😵. I have some indoor potatoes! I have been succession planting then, and keep burying them as they grow! 😊. Happy gardening!

  4. Bees attracted to cell phones??? Honestly, I have yet to see an episode of yours in which I don't learn something new. And speaking of ants, I seem to recall someone with a special kind of chalk for repelling ants. Was that you?

  5. Love your videos. I'm laughing my tail off at myself right now. When the bee headed towards you I thought it was something in my house heading to attack me and I threw my phone down and jumped up swatting the air. I had to replay to see what the heck happened. Time for bed. P.S. I am not nuts, just tired. Thanks so much for your videos.

  6. That's not lazy, you're just resourceful. Im glad to hear your pointers to make gardening easier..

  7. Old fashioned Borax gets rid of ants 🐜 🐜 add sugar if they are the teeny tiny sugar ants 🐜

  8. The chair garden is great for disabled people. Can use a patio, easily roll walkers and wheelchairs!

  9. Robbie, This summer I planted container cucumbers in four 5 gallon buckets. I put the buckets on chairs and had a table in the center. I let the vines climb on a table and attached tule all around the chairs to keep the rats out. It was so rewarding! I did have to spray them to prevent disease, but used an organic product. I just love tule! Thanks for all your inspiration!

  10. cut your pepper plant back and over winter it. They are perennials. I just found that out on another gardening channel. you can have a fast start to peppers next spring.

  11. I have the same problem with the bees and my ear bud device. The bees will buzz around my ear. Sometimes I have to take the ear bud off so the bees will leave me alone. I think the device emits a sound maybe like a buzzing that attracts the bees and we cannot hear it. Does any bee keepers have any ideas?

  12. I’ve been implementing your composting in place and my fig tree is loaded with figs!!! You caught Gary sleeping on the job, lol 😂

  13. Hi from Melbourne Australia, thank you for another cheerful and very "you"
video 🙂 I hope you have a great week and thank you for sharing your gardening style with us – as I have picked up a few tricks that I find have made my life very easy. Sadly our weather is not similar to the Californian zone so I cant fully do what you. So now I am looking to find walking onions which literally dont seem to exist down here … haha

  14. You are my favorite. I have learned so much from you. My totes and buckets did wonderful this summer. Planning for the spring in Indiana. Thanks for all you teach us,

  15. I love the way you garden. You have an ingenious system using everything no waste!

  16. Hi l just wanted to say….. Thank you for the ideas of putting tulle around your plants… and it worked. !!!! The squirrels and rabbits have left my plants. Thank you again.

  17. I'm not able to have a regular garden anymore. I'm disabled due to the osteoarthritis in my knees. I'm going to have a few chairs on my back patio. I'm really excited to have subscribed.

  18. We just moved into our forever home and I am looking forward to using your chair gardening technique in the spring❣️ in the meantime I will be on the lookout for the chairs and totes. Thanks for sharing 🌷🍫

  19. Hello Robbie and Gary,
I cannot tell you how much I enjoy watching ,learning and imitating your ideas. I stumbled onto your channel by chance when searching for humming birds a few months back , and your advice on solar water pump inspired me to add some water fountains to my little potted flower garden. Watching your gardening videos has enriched my 2020 about time for a first vegetable garden experience. I have started to compost in place with empty sugar containers,I have 3 now. I also searched and bought seeds and or plants. Walking onions, potato mint plant, atomic tomato seeds, malabar spinach and sprouting broccoli seeds . I have shared your videos with family , friends and cowokers .Thank you for sharing and inspiring so many of us to enjoy the little things that many times become the best things in life.

  20. Robbie you have changed my life!!!! I began my own beds right after watching your video. Just getting started with all the totes I have. I’m so excited. I have tons of good soil too.

  21. I’m having a hard time finding the chairs so I think I’ll try setting my totes up on 5 gallon buckets from Walmart. Hope it works.😏

  22. Awesome! Rabbits ate my garden last years and squirrels dug up everything. Never had a problem before last year. Going to use this idea! Thank you so much.

  23. I’m addicted to your videos ! You’re so wonderful . You and Gary are what the youngins call “couple goals “ in MY book ! You guys must be retired , because it’s obvious you’re not boggled down by the daily grind /rat race . You’re truly cultivating your own little slice of heaven out there . I really dig how you’re not concerned with the aesthetic, sooooo many channels and so called “influencers “ seem to be so caught up with having this lifestyle that LOOKS perfect and it has tendency to make me feel inadequate. It’s clear you’re concerned with the important stuff : doing right by nature , spending as less as possible to create your garden , being creative and sharing your knowledge. I hope in few years when our house is paid off , my husband and I can start gardening and going this same route . I love that y’all do it together and he’s just as excited and creative about garnering and birding as you are . I came for the hummingbird information, but I stayed for everything else Lol . My new favorite channel for sure .
