  1. I truly enjoyed watching today! I know how you feel about going through the freezer! I cleaned mine along with you.

  2. My two cents for what it’s worth. Don’t beat yourself up. You have organic compost in the making and you are feeding your chickens organic produce. In turn they make you eggs. To me that is a WIN, WIN. Your doing great!

  3. Don’t feel guilty! Composting it isn’t waste technically, it’ll be food for your garden! It’s not like your just tossing it straight to the garbage.

  4. Becky, I can't find the totes you did your freezer with can you please tell me what there called so I can look on Amazon. Thank you😊

  5. Yes! I really enjoy your hobbies, maybe soon I will have in-store pantry of my own that I can't wait to accomplish, also wanted to know where I can purchase a apron like yours it reminds of a butcher style?

  6. This gave me a kick in the butt to do my freezers just finished up yesterday and it felt so good to know what we have and what we have to cook up before it goes bad. Thank you for always being my motivation Becky ❤️🎉

  7. Hi Becky, please give yourself grace with the items that you tossed. You do so many wonderful things are, and are so so inspiring! I have two questions.
    1. What do you ask your butcher to cut your meat into and what quantities of each produce? 2. What food sealer do you use for your veggies and fruit? Thanks so much. Please Keep those YouTube's coming. I Love following you.

  8. Give yourself grace!!! You are juggling so much…. a little bit of freezer burn happens

  9. I use clothes baskets in mine. I have 1 big one and several of the smaller ones from Dollar Tree.

  10. I'm guessing a lot of the freezer organization bins are hard plastic is because of the issue I ran into. I got inspired from your freezers in your freezer organizing video in the past and used fabric reusable totes to sort veggies, meats, fruits, etc. But my freezer got bad freezer ice all over and I found out it's because the freezer doesn't have proper ventilation by its fans when the cloth inevitably gets up to the edges of the freezer. I'm going to look into the hard bins now to avoid the ice blocks in the freezer and prolong the life of my chest feeezer.

  11. The best purchase I've made for the homestead, other than my All American has been my FOOD SAVER! It literally SAVES FOOD. lol
I just did a clean out on my small chest freezer and my hubby bought me a used, but works great stand up freezer right before we butchered our first hog. I try to get a lot of my meat in cans, but not all…some things are just best "fresh". OH! Those chuck roasts make EXCELLENT canned beef! It tastes SO SO SO GOOD for stews, burritos, stir fries, rice dishes, quesadillas…you name it. Canned, homegrown chicken is crazy good, but pressure canned beef chuck roast is the BEST. I just do a raw pack with some salt, pepper and bay leaf, de-bubble with plain water and 90 mins for quarts. Goooood stuff.

  12. My husband just built a real pantry for our house & as i was pulling out cans from 3 different cabinets, thinking, "Oh yeah, I should only have maybe 2-3 cans," – I found 10 cans of refined beans! It's crazy how unorganized I was !

  13. No one's perfect. There will always be spoilage. You're still learning how to preserve food. Freezers in the basement or garage don't have to be pretty and nice-looking because they serve a specific function. Celebrate all the positives. I appreciate your honesty and transparency. Because I'm learning a bunch from you to facilitate my own journey.

  14. Wow! I’m amazed you can work bare handed for such a long project! I can barely organize in my small fridge freezer without freezing my hands! I was interested to watch because I’ve been wanting a freezer and trying to decide between a chest or upright style. I’ve been thinking the chest style would be harder to work with.

  15. I keep a pair of gloves next to my freezers. It’s sooo much more comfortable even if I’m just pulling stuff out for dinner!

  16. Freeze dry all those frozen strawberries! FD strawberries are delicious as a sweet crunchy snack

  17. We really need to clean and organize our freezers. But we haven’t! Lol
Maybe in the next week or two I can get on that cuz with the coming gardening season and the beef we purchase in the spring we definitely need to take care of that.
Thanks for your content Becky. I always know I can relax and learn and be inspired when I watch you.
You and Jessica @threerivers are my go to, as well as Mrs. Lori @ Whippoorwill Holler.😊

  18. The funniest thing about this video is my ocd got upset that you taped the box upside down🤣🤣 I know no one will ever see it but that’s how crazy my brain is 🤣🤣

  19. Watched this and heard you say your chickens aren’t laying eggs. Not sure what type of feed you use but people that have purchased feed from tractor supply people are having tons of chickens not laying

  20. I am confused.. It is just you and your husband and or do you have kids?? Because that is a lot of food for just two people… lol

  21. The way I see it is, you could’ve left the celery and kale in the garden to bolt / die back and it would’ve ended up in the compost anyway. Of course it would’ve been great to use it up but nature gives us more than we need and for that we can more forward in thanksgiving and without shame!

  22. I just ordered some of those silicone freezer bags. In the past I've tried using plastic and paper grocery bags to organize but they don't work well. Once I even tried plastic milk crates, but they were the worse. I can't wait for them to come so I can better organize my freezer.

  23. You aren't throwing the food away if you are composting it. you are returning it to the earth where it can nourish crops in the future. No need to forgive yourself, you are a SUPERSTAR. I as a 57 year old woman am learning a great deal from you. Keep doing what you are doing. So many of us depend on your wisdom.

  24. I moved from MI to WA and had to be ruthless in my freezer and it was so hard and I also felt shame for throwing away so much. I couldn't even compost or give to my girls. Becky you rock.

  25. Awesome! Thank you for being you! That’s one of my sayings ; ) 😉😜❤✝🛤🛤🦋🎶 Freezer organization is one of the things that has kept me from “doing freezer.” It’s simple – yet somehow a bit daunting, probably because it is unfamiliar for me. Seeing you work through the process was priceless. Thank you for sharing!
