Do you plant your tomatoes in the same bed every year or do you rotate beds ?
Thanks
From one seed addict to another, happy spring shopping. Thanks for all the information! Definitely gonna add a few of these to my order this year!!!
Hello, Dale….hope your having the best day, Bud! 🐾💕
There are only 3 brands of seed I can buy locally here in Northeast SC, Burpee, Ferry-Morse and a new one carried by Walmart called Back To The Roots.
I can't buy online from you know who because of the $25 minimum fro free shipping. That would be more seeds than I can use.
Same goes for the seed catalog I get once a year. Shipping is not worth it. I toss the catalog in the trash after looking through it.
Is celebrity plus the same as the celebration hybrid. ?
What are dwarf tomatoes? What is the Dwarf Tomato Project?. I'm new here, maybe you addressed this in the past.
2:30 49.5¢ a seed? get outa here!
You used to be my #1 gardening channel but you dissed black cherry tomato how dare you.
Totally understand the addiction. I tried White Currant from Baker Creek last year and they were incredibly delicious.
When you grow your seedlings how many plants do you start before you select just one? It's the hardest part when I have to select only one or two of each type. I give my overrun to my friends and neighbors!!!
Have you tried the Husky Red Dwarf/ Bush Tomato? I also Love the Husky Red Cherry.
I'm very excited to see how your tomatoes do this year. I purchased the rosella purples for my own garden. I struggle growing beefsteaks because of the heat and humidity. I'm hoping the dwarf varieties will work out better with a little help from shade cloth.
Which Tomato is Best for sandwiches? I'm in Auburn Georgia and I have issues with splitting and blossom end rot.
I had the Super 100 they lasted until the middle of October I’ll be trying the Sungold tomatoes I also had the Roman tomatoes last year they were really good to I’ll be trying different ones this year haven’t made up my mind yet thanks again for sharing with us.
Very informative, thank you
What do you use for bug control?
I'm growing Plum Regal and Burpee Supersauce this year for my paste tomatoes. Plum Regal has resistance to both early and late blight. For cherry type I'm growing Tommy Toe. Tommy Toe is an heirloom large cherry with excellent disease resistance and great taste.
I am addicted to seeds but tomatoes seeds are the worst. Every year I say I'm going to cut back but never do! I need a whole garden just for tomatoes!! When they start to ripen I eat atleast two a day. And snack on the cherry in-between. I love the Cherokee Purple, Black Krim, Pink Brandywine. I don't care if they Crack for you can't beat the taste. Last year I grew the Mortgage Lifter and Abe Lincoln. Along with many others. Love the sungold.
I'm a sucker for you tube channel recommendations… Latest therapy session led me to get mutant peppers with wispy foliage.
Nice video! Do you have any experience growing tomatoes indoors under grow lights? I've been wondering about experimenting with tomatoes along with the other plants I grow under lights. I might give it a go with one or two of the hardier varieties.
Sorry about your black cherry. Mine did fabulous last year. It was in a large raised bed by itself. We had a minor drought all summer long so watering was sparce. The plant grew into a monster and I harvested about 10lbs if tomatoes off this plant through October. A bit of blight which is normal in our area but nothing too bad. Made amazing sauce and salsa. So tasty off the vine. Worth trying again… maybe from a different supplier.
I want to be Jacked like Dale! I see a t shirt in your future!!!
Where are you buying the dwarfs?
So what's the plan to use all these tomatoes? You're gonna be drowning in tomato sauce! 😲
I love True Black Brandywine…
Thank you so much for all the info, I don’t know how many video I watch for you just today, I love tomato a lot so I wanna start growing this year what’s your best call in for a beginner? And where You buy your seeds? I will start with 4 types, Help me please ( I live in New Jersey zone six)
Thank you for sharing all the varieties of tomatoes you're testing and growing. This year, I'm going more paste varieties for canning, cherries for snacking, and salads.
Look forward to your tomato roundup every year. Let us know how things work out in the end.
I used homemade compost for my seed starting and now have 7 tomatoes. I don’t know what they are but I’m not complaining 🍅🌱🌝
Wow! Lotsa varieties! Great video! Thank you for sharing 😊👍Dale! 😊
Goodness that’s a lot! Do you can a lot of tomatoes? Love your videos! I have learned a great deal! Thanks!
If buying seeds is a weird addiction, I’m an addict too
@The Millennial Gardener,ar the seed packets in the videos are from your area only or everywhere else too?.
I'm growing two of your favorite cherry tomatoes. Have you ever tasted an Italian Heirloom tomato? Fantastic flavor, great disease resistance, and good for both slicing and canning.
Been waiting for this video
I grew several purple reign plants last year here in north Al and they did well for me. Horn worms loved them but other than that the flavor was stellar. I grew one that was at least 1 lb
You should try Big Rainbow from MI gardener
I grew Carmelo last year. Its the most disease resistant tomato I've ever grown. Im in middle Tn and we have a terrible time with foliar diseases from all the rain and humidity. Carmelo stood up to it all and kept setting fruit. Its also a massive plant. I grew Purple Reign as well. It made it through our record heat and set fruit again in the fall. And its absolutely delicious.
I got Unicorn as a free sample. They are not the best tasting, but very vigorous and productive.
