Our Permaculture Food Forest – PUTTING SWALES IN – EP1 DAY ZERO



We destroy our old food forest and PUT our SWALES in following PERMACULTURE PRINCIPLES. After running out of water in 2022 we decided to completely redesign our garden and put in a FOOD FOREST. We observed our garden in year 1 and learnt HOW to deal with the EXTREME WEATHER and DROUGHT here in Central Portugal.

You can follow our progress from day 1, the very beginnings of our food forest as we create swales, plant trees, learn the whats, whys and how to follow permaculture principles, guildings, compost and soil regeneration.

    with the wood,dont use for fire,use digger and dig massive hugleculture pit,fill with the wet wood,makes long term permacultur food bed

    i would like to have seen a lot more earth works,deeper longer swales,few more ponds,also a detailed plan of where and what youre planting,tons of trees hopefully,nitrogen fixers peas etc,good start
