Don’t make these TWO mistakes

In todays video we talk about RAKING your LAWN in JANUARY, It is ok to do so as long as you pass 2 of the 3 rules if you dont pass either 1 or 2 then I recommend you do not continue raking.

  1. It's good to hear a story 😊… would like to hear about the full price of the job and how you price it.. and how do you price just to scarifier… just brought one for this season and bit unsure what to charge .. always picking up tips here 👍👍

  2. My mate at school had the same crush on the keyboard player…we decided not to disappoint him and let him carry on. We even got him a poster 😂

  3. Aww I’m glad your bin was found safe and sound. We would have had to have a whip round to replace it. Looking forward to seeing how job turns out in the summer. Gonna be so different.

Plus your release of rise and shine.

I’m keeping a look out for a cylinder ( with scarifier attachment and ultimate bonus of 10 blade too 😰) I know it’s a ask , but one will turn up in just a matter of time. But it’s if I can wait that long.

A 17S with a 10 blade came up on eBay , but someone managed to get them to sell it before the end date.

  4. After watching your videos hopefully this is the year for a great lawn, still too wet here in the north east though. Do you have any tips for a great lawn where you have a dog at all?

  5. I hand scarified mine during the frost. Not sure that was a great idea.

  6. I was based at Moss Side fire station in Manchester. Back in 1998 one of the guys on my shift walked into the TV room as Hanson were on MTV and took one look at the screen and exclaimed, "corrr, she's fit !" 👍

  7. Dan is there a minimum temperature for power raking with my electric scarifier? The grass isn't boggy but is wet to touch, would this be a go or a no?

  8. Hi Dan do you think it’s worth checking the PH of any lawn soil , is his a good starting point or a waste of money. Is it something you do ?

  9. Dan, I am new to all this lawn care stuff. I thought it was laid and about 4 weeks, then every week after you mowed it. 1 question: Everywhere i look it says keep your lawn around 3 inches long to prevent weeds!!!!! We have a 1 year old baby and a newly laid lawn in September. The hot weather then constant rain and frost has affected a little of it. I LOVE how short you get those lawns. What height would you keep a lawn for a toddler to play on from April? Treatment ideas would be appreciated.

  10. Thanks Dan, the Hanson story made me laugh! What thickness fleece do you use to cover seed, is it the thinner 18gsm or thicker 35gsm stuff?

  11. Top video mate. Where was the place you get your blades sharpened? I remember you mentioned in one of your recent vids – thank you!

  12. With the power and fluid, is there any water needed to add or just the inhibit and galactic in the sprayer?

  13. Hi Daniel. Been watching the channel for years, big fan.

I saw your video from a while back where you put a sheet/fleece down before putting soil down and then seed to stop the worms coming to the surface. Just wandering if that experiment went well and if you could link me to to the sheet you used.

  14. Hi Daniel,
    Once again, interesting video.

i have noticed than i didn't see you yet roll the lawn.

After seeding and over-seeding, it's something you won't recommand ?

Thanks a lot for all those good advices.

    Davide from Belgium.

  15. Hi Dan,

I'm in London and my grass meets rules 1 and 2 so I'd like to do this. However, before I do I have two questions (apologies if they are stupid questions!)

    1. By scarifying the lawn and then treating it with your products at this stage, does that ensure that moss does not regrow again?

    2. I've tried visiting the eBay store and the Galactic Green you have used is unavailable. Could you let me know when this will be restocked?

Thank you very much. Huge fan of your videos! 🙂

  16. Another fantastic video Dan, Just out of curiosity what model machine is the first Scarifer you used in this video.

  17. Your story made me chuckle, but it just goes to show how beauty or attraction is universal, and it doesn't make you less of a man to recognise this. The world would be a better place if the expectations put on men to act and speak in a certain way were left to the religious past. Even if he was a guy, and what? Only you are the custodian of your masculine identity, and only you have the right to interpret it. I know a lot of people who see value in a "traditional" self awareness and often challenge other peoples masculinity, but given the chance they would cheat on their partner, betrayal, the worst trait of them all… and somehow that's more acceptable than recognising beauty…

Btw you have an awesome channel and with your tips my lawn is the envy of the neighbourhood. Thank you sharing your knowledge and expertise.

  18. I have a lawn like this. Is it a konthly job. So spray, wait till it goes black then scarify and re apply the moss treatment?

Sorry, new to this really and didn't know how much moss treatment can be applied.

Thank you for your videos, they are so helpful and informative 😊

  19. Dan, was just looking to buy the Rise n Shine 11.5.5. Or will you be bringing out something else for early spring? Lastly, what setting on the Scott’s rotary spreader?

  20. Great to see you back Dan, looking forward to the better weather and the Facebook group all planning our renovations!

  21. Hi Daniel. Your lawns are amazing!!! 1 question please! Loads of gardeners go on about Aerating. I know it's something you don't do. They do it to allegedly improve compaction. Is compaction a myth, or do you do something different to improve compaction?
