  1. So if your begonia is doing just great I would say your light levels (low) are what is stressing your citrus? How about individual tree lights?

  2. Kaye, I am no expert so keep that in mind. I am wondering if your damp soiled citrus trees need a bigger, deeper pot with fresh soil. I'm thinking that maybe they are root bound and are unable to pull in the moisture. Just a thought. Do you have a local organically-minded nursery in your area who could help you with the citrus? We still have snow on the ground and cold temps, but I am itching to dig in the dirt! Be well!

  3. I cannot grow citrus in this desert and now winter weather climate. I do not have a Sunroom or greenhouse to place even a potted Meyer Lemon (I'd love to have one). By the way, we got 6" of snow yesterday (3,500' elevation) and it is still on the ground though melting quickly and streets good now here.

  4. Your fight with the mealybugs is why I don't grow anything indoors but I hope re-potting the plants with fresh soil will help yours. You have a beautiful sunroom and views off your front porch and someday the greenhouse will come. Enjoy your sounds of nature. Blessings for a wonderful day!

  5. You don't need flat ground for a greenhouse. You could make a prototype for next season, using some construction left overs and grow in pots. And next year proto 2.0. And then a real greenhouse.

  6. I also have citrus trees. Pink lemon, Myers Lemon, pineapple. My mandarin and navel orange trees died. I harvested my first pineapple in December

  7. My Kishu seems to fruit once every two years, I have heard that happens when the tree is lightly stressed at some point in the growing season.

  8. Great update! Im debating even putting my Calamondin lime back out this season.. The past two years, I’ve had severe, leaf burning from the sun, which I thought was strange? Never had that problem in the past it’s quite old. I have about a half dozen little limes on the tree. I had to self pollinate in early December with a paintbrush, it’s looking grateful now. Nothing smells better than citrus full of blooms in the house that’s for sure. Zone 6b

  9. I got scab on my Meyer lemon. I am a seasoned gardener and had never had scab on anything before or since. It is a very flat bump, if you will, on the branch. Once you peel it off you can tell it isn't part of the tree.

  10. My plants are still very small so I keep them outside and when frost comes they come inside. Just on my balcony door so that they do not get too much heat from the living room. In the years when I took them in for the whole winter they lost all their leaves. You definitely can't do that because they are big and very heavy.

  11. I’d love to grow a lemon tree but no place for it. Michigan kinda sucks if you don’t have a greenhouse. My home doesn’t have enough sun except in a window where I can grow lettuce. At least I’m trying. I have a South facing window where I’m planting lettuce 🥬

  12. Miss Kaye, years ago when I moved folks part time this lady had a 110 year old lemon tree. In order to move from Seattle to California the dept. Of Agriculture had to inspect the tree because it was citrus. The tree stood in a large round pot scooted into the kitchen area to be out of the way from other movers. As I was packing her dishes she and the dept of agriculture rep walked in to inspect the tree un announced . Their quick presence and voices startled me as I stood up straight my right elbow knocked the only lemon off the tree 😥🤔😖 lololololo 🤣🤣🤣

  13. you are doing great!!! keep up the good work. now i going to get me some citrus trees. be safe. and, thanks for your video s.

  14. I saw your post about your property in California, wow you sure have a green thumb neem is good for many things including nail fungus , bless you Kay

  15. I purchased Neem Oil, the exact bottle you have, for my pepper plant because of bugs but it did not help which I ended throwing out the plant.

  16. I have Satsuma Mandarin Orange, Darcy Tangerine, Variegated Pink Lemon and Florida Key Lime trees growing outside in my Florida garden❤️.

  17. Test this first, but "I " mix a small amount (tsp) of orange oil with an equal amount of liquid dish soap and add warm water to make a quart, then spray plants that have aphids and suddenly, the aphids are no more.

Apparently, something in the orange oil decomposes the exoskeleton of insects, but washes off easily and doesn't hurt plants when used in mild doses.

Like I said, try it on one or two "test" subjects before you douche your entire garden.

    Your mileage may vary.

  18. Kaye I feel your pain, I have quite a few plants as well and I spend an exorbitant amount of time tending to them over the winter here in Ohio. I've probably killed about 5 avocado plants. I also had a lemon tree bite the dust so thank you for the reminder to go get another one! Much love to you! 💜

  19. I am learning how to care for my citrus trees. My lemons are starting to bloom and they smell so good. I really like citrus. I need to prune mine they are really getting big. I love flowers. Your moringa looks amazing! We put in a geothermal greenhouse for citrus and year round growing. However, we need more electricity to get a dehumidifier. I got a small solar kit from deep south’s homestead but I didn’t get enough solar or batteries to run the fans. My citrus is thriving I need to prune it. It’s my happy place. Things are a month ahead, my orchard is already blooming the trees started in February crazy! Have a blessed day stay safe! Things are very concerning. Wendy🙏🏻🇺🇸

  20. Spot treatment take a cotton cosmetic pad and dip in isopropyl alcohol. Squeeze and rub all the mealy bugs off the plant.

  21. Get yourself a citrus pruning book. Get new citrus soil from Amazon. Put stones in bottom of pots, holes in bottom of pots, wash all your pots very hot water and soap. Rub down pots with an isopropyl alcohol wipe. Then repot!
