Carpe diem Make the most of the present moment! if you are interested in starting something new, then you should choose to do so now, rather than wait and hope that it will happen someday.

Our season is ending but we continue to keep going. On this chilli Fall day, we harvested parsley and left a few plants which can survive winter. Parsley roots are edible as well. Next was green cauliflower, followed by Fall radishes. If you’re unfamiliar with growing radish, they are cool loving plants that can be grown in early Spring and Fall. This year the birds was kind enough to leave the raspberries alone. Normally it will take two years to get a great ginger harvest, but with our short season we harvest in the same year. I’ll try to grow them indoors next time to see how they do. We still have some purple carrots left and decided to harvest all of them before the soil bed becomes frozen solid. It was also time to clean up the hanging mason jars, we grew several herbs in here like sage, thyme, oregano, rosemary and garlic chives. And finally, we harvested the remaining red acre cabbages.
