Weekly Garden Tour 7 March 2023

This is definitely the earliest spring I’ve ever experienced in central North Carolina zone 7. Compared to last year we are 3-4 weeks ahead of schedule, you can compare by watching videos in this playlist: Spring 2022 Garden Tours

BIG NEWS: I’ve made progress getting the plant list/ descriptions up in my website for the Spring Open Garden and native plant sale on Saturday 13 May from noon-4pm. https://www.briegrows.com/spring-open-garden

  1. Mother Nature has always and will always be in control, we just have to be along for the ride! You are right, don't stress over it! Everything is looking great!

  2. I can't wait to see you at a master gardener event in NC!! 🎊🙏🏾 Quick lilac question: how much sun do your lilacs trees get/which side of the house did you plant your lilacs on? I am now the happy owner of 2 lilacs (1 small shrub and 1 on standard) and I really want to get their placement correct. I know they need lots of sun, but I don't want their leaves to get too scorched by our summer temps.

  3. Great video as per usual. I'm in 6a. Can I direct sow sunflower seeds, as you can do for poppies, or must they be planted?

  4. Your videos don't do your yard justice. People need to see it in person. Thanks for another great video.

  5. Glad you still have your Cryptomeria and have not taken it down. It helps to really show off the Don Egoff Red Bud when in bloom. Cool video
