Since the allergy test only covered a few things who knows if there's even more that he's allergic to? So I want to cover as much as possible, aside from just mites, fleas, and molds. I'm sure it'll take time to see results from all these measures, especially since we only recently got the mattress/pillowcase covers and I think those are probably the worst spots for mites. (We had to order those online since apparently they're not a thing in Japan?!) At the very least he's not getting as many bumps and/or tumors as he had before we moved–just this giant one. We'll keep you updated!
Just a curious random thought 🤔 I have bad allergies and got a few rounds of allergy shots. Can cats get that I wonder?

I'm also allergic to dust mites and also highly recommend products that have HEPA filters in them, most quality vacuums should come with a small one now (double check that your model does), these are currently the most effective filters for dust/dust mites, the one downside is because they are so small you need to keep a close eye on them and replace them when they are dirty, for me I can definitely tell when it's time as I start feeling congested, look at the filter, and sure enough it will be dirty enough for me to consider replacing it. I probably do it more often than people normally would (like the very moment that filter starts looking brown or offwhite, toss it) but nothing filters better than a fresh filter, the dirtier it gets the worse it is at filtering.
Also always get a HEPA air filter. I have a kind of budget one from Winix (it has a washable mesh and charcoal filter then replaceable HEPA in the back) but there are more expensive quality models that are cylindrical that do an infinitely better job, but the replacement filters are just as expensive as the unit and it is why I decided against them, but if it's worth the expense for you then go for it!

I know exactly where the dust mites are hiding Rachel. Poki's favorite spot in the house, inside of the recycling bin with a door that locks him inside.

As someone with chronic acne which results in lumps caused by cysts that need to be drained (aka popped), I initially thought why can't Poki's lump be drained, but then I remember: hives and acne aren't the same thing. There aint dead skin cells and skin oils in Poki's lump. So of course, the vet wouldn't do that😓
Considering poor Poki is a street cat of unknown origins, I can only imagine the health of his relatives. Poor dears. Living outside with dust mites. But that's also the sad reality of domestic cats living in the wild. Poki's lucky to have a home with such caring humans even when he's being a brat.
What you're doing is admirable but dust mites is just something you can't really win against. They are EVERYWHERE forever and always.

For future bath I recommend using a bath tub mat for the cats grip, I saw Poki really struggling with his paws slipping so maybe is gonna help the cats feel more comfortable inside the tub 🙂 I hope his allergies gets better

I'm not sure if you have any carpet in your house, but I am very allergic to dust/dust mites and I'm not allowed to have any carpet in my house because carpet attracts so much dust, when we moved into our current house we had to tear up all the carpet and replace with hardwood flooring and I've felt so much better since then. The most carpet I'm allowed to have are rugs that are small enough to fit in our washer.
Not sure how to suggest on the cleaning method, but try checking the higher place too, like the ceilings or the cat tower, or the cabinets top area. Sometimes cats go explore the place that we cant normally reach 😓 (sorry for my bad english)
Omg. Poki is me, and I am Poki!!! I have a severe dust mite allergy and have to consistently change bedding, vacuum and use air purifiers, and I still struggle. I REALLY hope Poki gets better! <3

8:54 for cutting nails i've heard you're supposed to hold the clippers horizontally, not vertically, when you cut the nail because vertical can make it split, even though it looks like it fits into the tool better that way. ymmv?

When you think your cat/dog is asking for more food and vocalizing, what they really want is walkies outside. We just learned that after 11 years with our dog, and it has made a lot of difference.
