Hey Everybody! Welcome to Morning Glory Farmstead! Join me for a Garden Haul as I start to get ready for my spring garden and begin to grow new foods and plants in my GREENSTALK Vertical Planters and Grow Bags! I am going to share all of the ingredients that I will be using to make my own potting mix and for doing some experimenting with my GreenStalks and Grow Bags! I will be using what I used the last season in my GreenStalks, but I will also be trying new products and seeing which grows best or if it even makes a difference. Top soil, peat moss, vermiculite, perlite, all purpose fertilizer and more!
Thanks for stopping by and for your support of my channel!

Keep it up . Good 👍👍😊😊 job!!! God Bless U
I’ve started buying what I need too. It’s so exciting getting ready for the new growing season.
Congrats on the haul! I ventured into making my own potting mix last year for my Earth Boxes and self watering containers and would like to offer my 2 cents. Peat- Pre moisten it. Get it good and wet before you add the other ingredients. Peat is VERY hydophobic out of the bag and pre-wetting will help your mixture absorb water right away and help with the dust when you add other dusty ingredients (especially Perlite). Peat- Sifting it really helps if you are going to be growing any root crops, especially carrots. I buy the same peat that you have and mine contained A LOT of chunky, woody material and sifting it helps keep your finished product much more fine and uniform. The carrots I grew in grow bags with potting mix with sifted peat were much longer and more filled out than the ones grown with unsifted peat.
Thanks for sharing!
All my free food costs a lot! plus labor but certainly feels good and tastes great! No one can convince me that my garden is a waste of money. My home decor included a line of nine bags of 'products' down the entrance hall since I have no place outside to keep them. My outside shoes, a shovel in the corner, and bags and empty yogurt cups, a caddy full of hand tools, gloves, etc. Sure looks like a gardener lives here. I don't know about you but eating my GS spinach as I walk along is a real treat. Your stalks look so good!!!!! I also saw something I wish I had done a long time ago. I normally don't water like they say -at the top. I just spray as I walk along checking on everything, swirl the stalks a half turn and spray again. I've put potted plants on the top but never actually planted up there but sure could since I don't water like they say. Your genius way to grow makes a lot of sense and mine could be even more beautiful with pollinator flowers planted up there. Thanks for the inspiration!
