  1. Mrs Reclaimed, you are not just the lady of the house but mammy to the children and the animals, and they know it!
There will be waste with crops and root veggies especially in a wet-cold environment.
Plant a third more than you need and buy pigs for your waste.
You really should plant potatoes as they are good in unplanted soil and are good for the soil.
Can't wait to see both your Green Thumbs in action.

Be well, Be Green and BE Mammy!

  2. Hi love the videos with the big pond if it’s yours put and agitator hooked to solar panel keep good oxygen lvl and stick with some catfish

  3. Don’t plant them onions next taters they will burn their eyes…. And watch telling secrets around the corn them ears are always listening 🥰😍

  5. Where did you put top soil when you had land bulldozed for house? It looks like all was removed.

  6. You guys are done such a wonderful job it's amazing how far you've come in such a short time. Now as far as the grass and the dirt you could put it in a pile over in your garden area. And piled a bunch of brush on top of it. And burn it. Which will kill any grubs and grass it's in it, any seed that might be in it and also put some ash until your dirt

  7. I was told (when it was too late) do not have tomatoes and strawberry’s too close. Plant them as far away as possible. There’s something with a certain kind of bacteria one of them can produce and it will kill the other.

  8. Mel and Gary, have you thought about using livestock panel fencing for your trellises? They're made of welded wire, and I think they are available in 16-foot lengths. I know they have 12 feet lengths.

  9. You might want to have your dirt tested to see if you need add any minerals. Watch Cog Hill he has a big garden, trees and berries etc. Love your tresses video.

  10. So I have had some good results with companion planting. For tomatoes I do marigolds and chives to keep pests away. I have heard basil is great to improve tomato flavor. I don’t have personal experience with that one. Cucumbers I do a radish next to each cucumber plant to keep away cucumber beetles. Farmer Browns Paradise has a couple good videos on companion planting.

  11. My wife son and myself are looking to move to Arkansas from Upstate NY. Any recommendations about the area? I'm a Avid Outdoorsman need atleast 10 acres but close enough to shopping for my wife

  12. Hey guys. Loving your videos. I thought i would drop you a quick comment letting you know that the reason why your chillis might not be germinating is because they need heat to germinate.
I would recommend putting them in a separate tray and putting them in a warm room, maybe the bathroom until they show signs of sprouting. Seeds don't need light to germinate, just moisture and warmth. Only once they've sprouted do they need light, so you should be fine 🙂

  13. Excited for y'all to have a thriving Garden. Your plans look great. I have had great success with planting basil near tomatoes and peppers. They enhance their growth. Marigolds on the edge or outside of garden helps with insect control as well. Tansy and mint on the outskirts of garden helps deter unwanted wildlife from eating your garden as well. God bless y'all, happy gardening ❤

  14. You should probably think about putting a drain pipe on that hill where the water was washing it away. Or it will be a never ending battle with water runoff.
Also try using the tractor and turn the soil under the garden, ground seems a little rocky
And if you have a pickup or trailer go to the garden/landscape yard and pick up the soil yourself so much cheaper. And you can drive right up to the garden to fill the beds

  15. I don’t need takes a dream you had a fulfill your dream takes time when I get there. It’s gonna look beautiful and look back at WoW. Look it over we did. It’s gonna look awesome now.

  16. I do not like the fence plan. I mean, I just wish it wasn't needed. I think it would look so nice open with grass all over and a clear view of everything. If it was me, I might put some stakes like those metal angle irons at each corner of the of the raised beds and use a rope or two to fence them off. I think that might discourage the dogs from messing with them. And it would be so much less work. Anyways, just my thoughts.

  17. I don't understand why you have the gables facing the direction you chose. Wouldn't it create a great view if the gable was facing the other way with large windows and maybe a porch?

  18. If your going to put the herbs in the stackables pots then put a plate or a pie pan underneath it and keep it in the house until the weather warms up and as far as anything else I would wait till the last freeze to put anything in the ground that will not make it throu the frist

  19. You need larger rocks to cover the banks and then a galvanized wire mesh to hold it in place. At the top use the same method as you did around the house. That way you won't have your banks deterating on you. Sorry for the spelling really bad at it.

  20. Oh and about the boards warping will happen so you need to get that done ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Fingers tired.

  21. Look into agriculture (sp) for raised beds. Get some Soil Pep (in ground mix)) from a nursery to start building up your ground. Order some earth worms? It's prohibitive to use 'raised bed' mix totally. It'll break you. You can top beds with potting soil for a good start but when the roots get below that, they run out of goodies. It will take awhile to get your soul up to snuff. Looks good.

  22. Do you plan on planting garlic? You don't want to have to buy Chinese garlic! The stuff is grown with raw sewage!..

  23. You guys need some real rocks on the slopes between terraces, like from soccer ball size to basketball size. Have a great day 😊.
