Little Newt is sick 😒

He was only a tiny 10 ounces at birth, and although he’s done pretty well — yesterday we noticed something troubling.

This channel is all about our adventures creating and living on our 1-acre farm right in the middle of the city of Phoenix, Arizona! We have a small plot of land, but boy, do we make the most of it. We start each day with milking our adorable herd of Nigerian Dwarf goats and gathering eggs from the flock of chickens. We use the fresh goat’s milk to make cheese, butter, cream, and we use it in all sorts of baking & cooking.

We love that we can walk into our backyard and gather food from the goats, chickens, fruit trees, or garden. It’s the best feeling ever! Each animal on our farm is taken care of ethically. We let the mama goats raise their babies until they reach 10 weeks of age and are naturally weaned from nursing. We focus on breeding for strong genetics but we still have our fun pets like the queen of the herd, Luna, our Nubian goat or Willow, the first baby we kept on the farm.

Watch for regular episodes of our daily life here as we try our best to live sustainably on our little farm in the city.

  1. If you do get a doeling on the first of April could you call it Jean or freeda as that's my other halfs name and if you haven't guessed her birthday is the first of April ( the biggest April Fool going) she isn't too well at the moment

  2. Ugh.. I'd still treat ALL of them for Coxedia anyway πŸ’― it usually comes from the adults. Plus cleaning every goat area from top to bottom or they'll just keep reinfecting each other over and over.. no Bueno!

  3. So many babies screaming and running around searching for their mamma! It looks and sounds just like an elementary school πŸ˜‚πŸ’•

  4. I’m treating my duck for coccidia right now, it’s pretty normal in birds she’s just overloaded. I’d love to know what you do to treat for it because the resulting vet bills can be pretty heafty

  5. Heya πŸ™‚ I’m commenting all the way from South Africa and I often visit My stepbrothers Plot (Farm), I stumbled across your channel in shorts and it is amazing how you treat your animals and the passion you have for them. New subscriber right here! Keep doing what you love πŸ™‚

  6. I'm excited to hear your plans! When you first showed him, I was confused and thought I'd have to go back and watch the Birthing videos bc I didn't remember him haha

  7. What a PRECIOUS new baby boy!!! He DOES look very similar to Willow! Beautiful colors just like her. He seems soooo sweet too and accepts hugs and scratches! I'm so excited to see who you keep and who you guys plan to breed with him in the future! You have the best boys for breeding, each with their own special color traits! That's what fascinates me when I see your goats kidding. The color combos and all of the genetic stuff you share is incredibly cool! Still my most favorite homesteading family on YouTube! πŸ₯°
