Crown! Hair is struggling!
All I think about when I hear the word trends is Miranda Priestley aka the great Meryl Streep in The Devil Wears Prada saying sarcastically “Florals? For spring? Groundbreaking.” 😝
There is nothing I admire more on another woman than beautiful healthy natural short nails.
Painted fabrics- I think that painted (not dyed) fabrics will happen, at least within haute couture. Exquisite fully realized paintings. That, and dimensional embroidery, is where I think the paper art will transfer.
I recently cut my hair into a French bob. The young stylist called it a “bixie”— a bob-pixie. I had to smile about the new term for an old (and I argue classic) cut.
It occurred to me that many if not most trends are echoing down from the past. E.g flappers..fringes. and no I'm not that old. Love the inventive hair colouring…

YOLO! After I turned 51, I shaved off half my hair and dyed part of it purple. I was planning to wait for gray hair to dye it a wild color, but gray isn't happening fast enough! So I bleached it. I love it! I love the undercut as well. Loving the whole "anything goes, no matter your age" moment.

The hobbies. During COVID. Home became a sanctuary. I learned to enjoy painting water color cards for friends, taking up découpage again and writing letter with fountain pens in unusual colors, like olive green and peacock blue.

I just discovered a funny thing I do. I give Justine a thumbs up BEFORE I have even watched her video, she’s always so good!!
Nails and scalp, great (one might even say overdue) but I sort of leapt at the idea of victorian corset styles in with the tule and ruffles.

I have been obsessed with special occasion lace dresses this year.

To conclude: we had the 90’s and now the early 2000’s are making a comeback 😅- not gonna complain some outfits really rocked back than. Just keep the super low-thong showing pants back in the early 2000’s.

I know you mentioned airy styles, and I think this falls under it, but “mermaid-core” is going to see an increase I think. Pearly colors, lots of lilac instead of pink, shimmers, it even ties a bit into the fact that magenta and bright Cyan are coming back. Those are beach colors in my eyes

Good on Paper — I am starting a tiny venture re-using old books (called book folding and not origami). I have recently finished 35 years in the publishing industry as a writer/editor.
