What has been your Gardening SUCCESS this year (or last)? I wanted to let you know what I class as my allotment Gardening SUCCESS… and stay tuned to the end as there’s a not so success.

A few folk have asked about the equipment I use to record my videos and how I get the buttery smooth shots – I’d like to say it’s me but alas it’s not me – it’s the equipment.

Below is what I use:

Main Camera: Panasonic HC-VX1 4K: https://amzn.to/2RHRJAo This never lets you down and produces great wide stunning shots in 4K

Second Camera: GoPro Hero Black 7: https://amzn.to/2PufdHg This IS THE camera if you have an allotment. It is by far the best and easiest to use – video is stunning!!!

Third Camera: Note 9: https://amzn.to/2L588MV If I have no camera and need video… this is a great video capture phone – 4K is stunning.

Main Mic: RØDE VideoMic Pro+ Microphone – Black: https://amzn.to/2PsuTe2 The quality is unmatched.

Second Mic: Rode Smartlav+ Lavalier Microphone: https://amzn.to/2L3DBPq Back up if the wind is too great

Indoor Mic: PR 40: https://amzn.to/2PrZI2F Omph – if you are going into this for real – audio is even more important that video. This mic is a dream sound.

27” iMac: https://amzn.to/2B1VVE6 I have used Macs all my life – not one has let me down. Rock solid with rock solid software. I use Apple’s Final Cut Pro

Main Tripod: K & F Concept Tripod: https://amzn.to/2L3HKmw I have tried all so many tripods some way way more expensive. This one is great, lightweight… but opens tall enough to still get me in the shot and I am 6” 4”!

Second Tripod (for GoPro Hero 7) Joby GorillaPod SLR-Zoom: https://amzn.to/2L5vRMS This is the idea tripod when in allotment as you can stick it anywhere and record great shots

Light: Neewer 176 LED 5600K: https://amzn.to/2B5Dy0U I use this all the time now great for dull days (we get lots of those).

  1. It's great to see the successful crops. We still have potatoes, tomatoes (canned & frozen), beets, & 3 kinds of pumpkin left. Pickles: cucumbers, onions/shallots, kohlrabi, carrots & swede.
Sadly, we gobbled up the last of the fresh onions on boxing day…
    Thanks Tony!

  2. Well done Tony, those toms sound great, I will try that method next season, I don’t bother buying toms from shop, they taste awful. Happy new year regards alan

  3. A fresh cheese and tomato sandwich is to die for; and at this time of year it is to kill for!!! Great the salad is still going. We have about six plants still going strong in our polytunnel. Will definitely have to look at that tomato canning from this year, and I'll also check out Vivi as I know she does loads too. 😁

  4. Happy New Year Tony and family….love your videos and cant wait to grow the chilli's you sent me..

  5. Hi Tony, I agree with you on the tomatoes I canned (Jared) them this year and I still have some left, I grew onions and like yourself not enough but this coming season I have hopefully changed that If you check out my channel you'll see loads I just hope they don't turn to seed, Thank you for your videos, Take care.

  6. OMG your enthusiasm is infectious…lol … I feel like I need to go out and get bigger kilner jars and more tomato seeds and that's just from this update, I'm of to watch the other no dig videos now as recommended by your good self as I recon that's the way forward… Happy New Year and keeeeeeeep growin'

  7. We pressure can and we are eating 2014 tomatoes. Last two years the garden has been real bad not much production. Our green beans were stringy and just awful. I canned some but taste awful. I am buying green beans for the first time in years. Wow are they expensive. Hoping for a better year in 2019. Your tomatoes look great.

  8. Good day to you Tony !! I still have tomatoes, tomato sauce and tomato passata left !! You had some amazing success in 2018, let's hope that 2019 is just as good or better 👨‍🌾♥️👍🎥🛐

  9. Happy New Year, Tony! Thank you very much for seeds, got it. I live in chilly place and now its even more chili))

  10. Happy new year, I think 2018 was a bumper year for tomatoes. I did really well and I do similar with storing in mason jars you cant beat it they taste fantastic even after 6-9 months
    all the best in 2019

  11. Nice video. 👍 Perhaps this will help you a little. Put your produce under lock and key, then have a little talk with your girl, "You know I love you and don't mind sharing, but you have to ask first and every time. I've got to plan my own shopping if something is gone." Something like that.

  12. pointless me trying to store any of my produce. the wife always has the cupboards full of junk food. I will have to settle for eating the tomatoes fresh in the summer…………………..brian

  13. I totally share your joy of success in saving summer produce into the next year! Fabulous!

  14. Hi Tony, glad about your successes and I'm enjoying seeing you so glad and giddy about it! I think that's the way to look at things, how it was a success instead of looking at things that didn't work out that well/learning moments. They're fine but there is always something to be thankful and happy about. I'm searching for that recipe with the tomatoes. I've watched the Jamie Oliver vids and know what you mean but I guess I'll have do dig through all my J.O books, I'm sure I've the recipe but where……that's the huge question 😉 Have a great day, the sun isn't not up yeat but starting and today I'll go to my allotment and have some fun and my friend and I are going to write down the plans we have and where things are going to be planted/sown and so on, yay! xo

  15. Tony that video was simply inspirational and boy do i need inspiration and optimism right now. Little story to tell you …
Acquired our allotment in August and since then burning with enthusiasm for January i began the Sew and Grow Channel. Last thursday i drove to the garden centre and bought some sale items to plant. By 10pm that evening i had broken my ankle in two places and was on my way to hospital where i had surgery to pin and plate. Now none weight bearing for 6 weeks and out of action for 12…
    Completely Devastated.😭😭😭

Mags from' My garden and the dinosaurs that live there 'has sent me over to you to be entertained in the next 3 months….

Now the good news…. yesterday my son in law bought me a wheelchair on Ebay and today i am hoping to get to the allotment. I'm crying inside with joy….fingers crossed i'll get there.

Thank you for making me smile this morning and giving me that extra bit of encouragement to get there. May even check out the one bucket of spuds.

    Best wishes Patricia x

  16. Okie dokie.. i have to ask.. where are you from, and where is the garden? I am in Northern Arizona- we were watching your videos yesterday and no one here knows where that accent is from! I liked the building raised beds video!

  17. Are you always alone at your Allotment?
When did you start working that Allotment and how did you get that plot?
How long have you had your garden?
Do you grow anything in your garden at home?

  18. Great video Tony, know what you mean, and from your videos, i can see your not a bragger, you are just in love with the produce you grow and love what you do, well done a fan5astic job. Your journey is a great adventure, thanks for sharing it with us. Any tips for growing peppers seeing as you did so well with them. We had loads of Tomatoes too, but we ate them all , yummmm 😂.
