Behind the Scenes Projects | Gardening with Creekside

We have had several projects completed behind the scenes, and today we are showing you how everything is looking. Between buttoning up the new woodland garden, installing a new space for shade production, and installing the siding on the production annex it has been very busy around here!

  1. I actually love the butter yellow color of the primer on the annex! Please reconsider gray would be so dreary and dull. The nursery is looking better all the time I'm going to get there one day.

  2. Big cold front coming through.. 10degrees below average. Look up Ryan Hall on YT. He does weather updates on storms.

  3. The woodland garden is lovely. I remember when Jackson told you irrigation could be run to the area. I spray painted my irrigation covers dark brown to blend in with my mulch, which might look good in this area.

  4. Mrs. Jenny. Ryan Hall YouTube weather guy says, yall probably get another cold blast! 😢😢 hope it ain't so.

  5. It’s so fun to see your green! 🌱It’s still deep, deep snow here for mid March. Raining today turning to more snow. Keep watching you Southern girls gardening and looking longingly to my yard. Can’t wait to get out there!! 💕Jennifer (MN gardener)

  6. So fun to see all the new projects!!! I don’t know what shade of gray you are thinking of painting the annex, but if the window trim is painted white, the windows will look larger & maybe more in scale with the building. If you paint them the same color, they will tend to disappear & minimize their appearance, which is maybe what you want. Anyway thanks for the tour!!!

  7. Great job everything looks fantastic. Yeah cover, uncover the spring game.😂. As for covering the plants with the black pots I do the same. The pots also have drain holes in them so covering your plants with them they can breath and it’s way better than plastic. Love that everything is coming along fantastic. Thank you so very much for sharing this with us.🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦

  8. 🙈My Tea Olives look awful from those temps. I even had them covered with a frost cloth. I’m guessing that the new growth on them were too tender to handle that. How did yours fair?

  9. You say you are using the "the pines" for production of shade plants. Will the falling pine straw hurt the baby plants as they grow? Will you need a worker clearing the pine straw off the containers on a regular basis so they don't get covered? I am so impressed with the business you are running. I love the behind the scenes look at production. Best wishes for a great season. You both are rock stars Jerry and Jenny!!

  10. Its so nice of you to acknowledge all of the workers. Great video! Enjoy you showing us the plants as always.

  11. Hi Jenny. Thank you for answering my question on how long the frost covers can be on my shrubs. Our frost broke this morning & I was able to take everything off. I also had bad luck in planting loropetalum shrub. They are too marginal in my zone 7b & can’t handle the cold snaps.

  12. Crazy day today, Jenny. Couldn’t find you all day yesterday and late getting you today. ‘Bout to go through withdrawals, lol.

  13. Jenny, I always love your tours. You and Jerry are such a fantastic team as you work together! Spring is bursting out all over! Sure wish Houston, Texas were closer to Creakside because I would be your #1 customer! 💚💚 Linda

  14. Wow you have been so busy at the nursery for the upcoming season. Going to look wonderful Jenny. So happy for your success!

  15. Another benefit of waiting to paint – no worries about the pollen and oak panicles dropping into wet paint!

  16. Oh my goodness…… Walking in the woods and shopping for plants at the same time!!! I see a roadtrip from Cincinnati in my future!!!!
