Each year on the John Muir Trail, I strive to capture the landscape at its best moments. And when skies aren’t giving you much to work with, the focus has got to be on the foreground. These wildflowers here are few and far between, and really any plant life above 10,000ft is difficult to come by and does not last long. So when you see a fairly large grouping of plants at these elevations, you take special care not to damage any of that, and furthermore capture the fleeting beauty of light and life for others to enjoy.
