  1. I remember the evening my mother asked my father "where are we going to keep the chicks I just ordered?" Otherwise it would never have come to fruition.

  2. My Mom always referred to our chickens as 'the girls' as well. Felt quite nostalgic with this video!💞

  3. Great show.. do not reply to people who say negative things. Your doing a wonderful job. I love your show..😊😊😊😊

  4. Awww they're so cute 🥰 Jenny you sure are an educator 🙂 You did a fantastic job explaining all the different types of chicks you have. Wow! Can't wait to see the new coop.

  5. So. I worked in newborn nursing for 30 years and consider myself a true baby addict. Those are some pretty spectacular looking babies. So fluffy.

  6. Creekside Chicks! They are soooo sweet. We know the chicken coup itself will be nothing short of darling and lovely. If you have a busy day and need footage for videos – just set up a camera on them as I'm sure I'm not the only one that could watch them for a long, long time. Enjoy these little creatures.

  7. So you could say you counted your chickens before they hatched. 🐣
    😆
My best friend calls her chickens, The Girls.

  8. I can't vouch for this myself, but I have friends who say since getting hens their numbers of Japanese beetles have gone WAY down with theory being they eat the grubs just below the surface. You can keep us updated. I guess that wouldn't be true if they are penned up, but hers roam her property eating any bug or anything else that moves lol

  9. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. My husband got six from Merrys last week and I wanted a coupe of the Buff Orphington chickens. So thank you I will have me some now🙂

  10. How exciting! Y’all definitely have a plan! I know with all your projects, getting the shipping portion up and going is probably low on your list. Just know I am anxiously waiting and even if it is next year, I will definitely be one of your customers. Your annuals look so amazing and I want them all! 😁. I love your videos and look forward to every new post!

  11. Love the varieties you have chosen! And Carolina Coops is known for their wonderful coop designs – can't wait to see the final coop in it's spot! You talked about the predators that can be so destructive in your area and how to prevent those kinds of challenges – such an important aspect of raising a flock! Too funny that you mentioned Rhode Island Reds – when I teach chicken keeping classes here in northern CA, we always recommend that breed for egg production, but not always for their friendly and calm disposition. It really depends on the hatchery, but we find they are a bit more skiddish and even a little more territorial. Instead, we recommend the Red Stars, which is a mixed breed between the RIR and White Leghorn – Murray McMurry has a good line of those and they are amazingly curious and friendly, lay a great deep red egg. Quick tip – if you notice the chicks consuming any of the pine shavings, switching to paper towels or pet pads is a great way to absorb their droppings. Avoiding newspaper is super important (to prevent leg injuries), but sometimes shavings in the first weeks of chick's development can cause digestive blockages. Thanks so much for sharing about your new additions to the family!

  12. Good morning, Jenny☕️ How exciting! Those baby chicks 🐤 are so adorable 😍 That coop is going to be gorgeous. Excited to see the process. Have a Blessed Day 😊🐶

  14. They are so dang cute!!! Brings back sweet childhood memories of when I lived on a farm with my parents, and I use to watch baby chicks hatching in incubators. Can't wait to see the coop in place, it looks beautiful in the pics. 🥰

  15. I’m looking forward to seeing you, set up the coop. I keep toying with the ideas of getting chickens a talk myself out of it.

  16. Hi Jenny. Thank you so much for your information. You are always such a happy bubbly and positive friend to listen to. You deserve every bit of success for your nursery. and your channel. xx

  17. My 7 year old loved this video. They just hatched chicks at school and she came home today asking for us to get our own chickadees. So cute. 💜
