Join us as we photograph the Sled Dog teams during the 2023 Iditarod Ceremonial start using the Canon R7 in Alaska.
And bonus footage of the infamous Running with the Reindeer during the festival.
Note* The Reindeer real time video was shot by my Mother who came to visit for a month with the iPhone 14. So thanks to her for capturing the footage 🙂

Great video as always! It was great to see some snow, in Hungary we barely got any these days!
A great video. I really like the relection in the sunglasses.
That was fun, fun, fun thanks
Surprised that that the EF did that well on the R7, good job, thank you from Philly
Great video. The snow sculptures were amazing. Looks like a real fun event. Thanks for sharing.
What auto-focus mode were you using on the R7 for shooting the dogs running by?
that focus engine on the Canon is top notch!! great video!!
curious why you didn't use the Z9? just didn't trust the auto focus?
I loved it!!
I think the one dog with face in snow was just trying to get a drink. They bite/eat snow for hydration. Love the video
Hi, I have been watching your videos for some time and find them very useful. I am sorry for a somewhat off-topic comment but would kindly like to ask you for advice concerning gear selection. I mainly film fishing videos using my GoPro and sometimes iPhone 12 Pro Max for B-roll. It works just fine but I would like to step up the quality of my videos and need some new gear. My budget is USD 2500 – 3000. I need a B-roll camera able to film 4k videos with a lens capable of zooming in at a distance of about 30 – 40 m to be able to see a „float“ on the surface of water. Also I would like to shoot „fish presentation“ videos, meaning me sitting in front of a camera with a fish in my hands at a distance of about 1 – 2 m. The third thing the camera must be able to do is to take some great looking photos of jumping and fast moving fish. And finally the setup must be able to provide good results in „low light“, mainly in the „fish presentation“ and „fish photo“ modes. I am a complete beginner and do not know anything about video or photo making. So I need a camera for beginners with some semi-professional features. My shortlist is APS Canon R7 with 18 – 150 mm kit lens or full-frame Canon R8 or Sony ZV-E1 (the newly announced full-frame camera). I would go with Canon R7 or R8 but the selection of lenses scares me a bit and Sony seems to have a more „open“ ecosystem. What would you recommend as a professional wild life shooter? Thanks for your reply and keep up the great work!
Some awesome tongues Scott !! Thanks for this enjoyable sample of life in Alaska 😉
