Sharing 2 “Secret” Gardens | Gardening with Creekside

Almost two years ago Jerry and I installed two gardens at our church and today I am sharing these 2 “secret” gardens with you for the first time. These spaces have some tough conditions – blazing hot sun, lots of shade, surrounded by concrete & brick, bad soil, high traffic zone, and no irrigation. Despite all of that these gardens have been thriving and I am excited to share them with you!

  1. This came in perfect God's timing. My church just asked me to help with the flowerbeds around our building. We have no irrigation, Texas Gulf Coast, Zone 9! There are a few things in place, like variegated ginger, knock-out roses, crepes, and some Vitex trees. I was feeling a little overwhelmed at the idea, but your video is a Godwink and reminder that plants can survive without irrigation.. just gotta pick the right ones! Your church beds are inspiring. Some of those plants wouldn't work in my zone, but, again, the inspiration is there!

  2. Thanks for taking us along great inspiration especially for plants against a hot wall. Look forward to the next visit.

  3. Such a beautiful way to give back to your church. Looking forward to updates on this space.

  4. I pruned back my Pugster butterfly bushes a few weeks back and I followed the how to YouTube video that proven winners posted and I noticed on some of my bushes that half of the plant needed to be pruned and now I’m worried I pruned it too much… can you over prune and if so, will they recover?

  5. Thanks for taking us along for the ride. Would love to see updates throughout the season. Jeanette, New Zealand.

  6. Such a blessing to your church 💜 I can’t wait to see updates! And the holy grail hibiscus had me 😂

  7. Looking forward to see what annuals you plant. Your church is so lucky to have you and Jerry making it look so inviting and beautiful. God bless you both. 😊❤

  8. Thank you for taking us along with you on this project. Looking forward to seeing the update and many more. I’m sure I’m speaking for the masses. Have a lovely weekend 😊

  9. Love these videos! We don’t have irrigation so I’m always looking for tough plants for the south & west sides of my property. Would love to see an update on Laura’s bed too!

  10. You've given me a great idea! I'm going to talk to my church which has about 10 beautiful acres about doing a flower garden. I would love to see an update on this great little project you've done, also!
