we were told you had to use oak that was aged for a certain time only, and had to be 6-8 inch diameter minimum, not you four inch branches; in order to sustain the correct growth base.
Thank You, Dan. I tell people you're my go-to-man for anything gardening related. This ol country gal learns a surprising amount of gardening info from you. ( :
Loved the episode, but have a few more questions. Can we use older wood that has been soaked in water? Is the wax absolutely necessary? How does the wax not prevent the spawn from coming up? Would love to see more Mushroom videos Dan. Thanks for all your hard work and sharing your knowledge.
Morels have a symbiotic relationship with trees, so they are very difficult to grow, especially if they aren’t near one of the trees they love. And if it was that easy, they wouldn’t fetch upwards of $70 for a pound during the season. Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

Great video, I'm going to order some and try it, we've got lots of oak trees around 👍
Great video! Thank you 😊
The cool thing about oyster mushrooms is that you don't need logs you can do lots of other media too. Common one I see is bags of straw.
It’s Amazing tgst you can play mushrooms! But you didn’t tell us or put in description box where we can get them to plant ourselves!!
Where do you get the spawns?
Thanks for sharing, God's blessings always 🙏

Ur a fungi 😂. What is ur wax ur using please
Where is the link for purchase of mushrooms?
Hi Dan, regarding the wax used, is it soy or paraffin wax?
Another informative episode. Thank you so much.
I recommend placing your logs with hardware cloth or chicken wire placed a few inches away. Woodpeckers will decimate spawn in the logs!

Thanks you make look easish
Where can I get the spawn for the mushrooms?
I did not understand previously that purchased mushroom plugs continued to yield mushrooms for some time. Makes their high price more acceptable.
Great presentation. Thank you..
Very interesting
What kind of wax?
