March Cottage Garden Tour – Thousands of Crocuses, Hellebores and Seed Sowing

Here is a little look around our cottage garden in March. Our crocuses are at their best at the moment, although they are currently being eaten by a rabbit! We thought we would show you those before they all get eaten. We also picked up a few hellebores and winter clematis plants from the garden centre and added those to the garden. We have lots to look forward to in the coming weeks as spring arrives!

  1. Good morning. Ever since you mentioned it in a previous video, I’ve been looking out for Clematis Freckles (not found it yet 😢) but you’ve now just bought the Advent Bells. Can I ask why you’ve gone for a different type? Do you have experience with both? Which in your opinion is the ‘best’ of the two.
    Thanks in advance

  2. Dang, I planted 500 crocus or so last fall but not one of them came up, so bizarre. We had the unfortunate of having bulldozers driving over the lawn for another house job, that did compact the soil after but they were not driving everywhere I planted. Oh well, Im going to try it all again this fall!

  3. I ADORE your stone buildings and I noticed you have rough log borders like I do. My favorite climber is honeysuckle. Found a really pretty Purpurea Japonica this year. White, yellow, and red blooms with purple foliage in winter.

  4. The 2 bunnies in my yard have eaten the new growth off my roses, irises, tulips and daffodils!! So frustrating!! They also dig holes in my yard for their baby bunnies! So frustrating .

  5. Beautiful garden. Could you tell me where are you based? It seems very early for so many flowers and it would be so lovely to wear a dress but alas… the spring is not here where I live, not yet.

  6. Dude I’ve been seeing ur bunny videos on tiktok! I just realized this is the same account lol love ur garden

  7. Ivy is a very quick cover for trellis. I understand some find it evasive, but of course looked after, well trimmed, it not only gives quick cover but also a nesting place for birds and with several varieties available giving plenty of flowers with nectar for the early spring bees.

  8. Your garden is beautiful. When you say that the crocuses have been planted in your lawn. Do you use a dibber or a planting tool to do that?

  9. I think the flowers that bloom in the spring will always be the most wonderful to me. Where you live in one of the most enchanting places I’ve seen. 🥰🌷

  10. This has given me so much inspiration for my lawn. I'm going to add clover seed to it this year, but now I want crocuses and other native style flowers.
