Relocating an Establish Lantana & Installing a David Austin Standard | Gardening with Creekside

The time has come for me to relocate my beloved Miss Huff, an established lantana that has been in the Cottage Garden for years. She has simply outgrown her space in the garden, and it is time that she finds a new home. In her place, I am installing a David Austin Rose standard which will bring us gorgeous rich pink flowers that smell heavenly!

  1. Cant wait to see this rose bloom it will look beautiful in this spot! Jenny you a hard working gardener! Happy Easter to such a lovely family!

  2. Thank you for the tip of the granular treatment! I live just North of you in GSO area and have a terrible time with Japanese Beatles! Can this same treatment be applied to dahlias? Love seeing all of your videos. Thank you!

  3. I just potted up a florabunda rose- John Paul ll- it leafed out great then now has a yellow ring around ea leaf! I was gifted some compost from a farm( beautiful , no smell
    ) ??? Crazy

  4. I just reapplied the 3in1 on my roses for the second time. The climber already has black spot. I also sprayed with a copper fungicide on the climber. It works well for the sawfly. I think DA says not to add anything to newly planted bare roots other than their root stimulator. I could be wrong.

  5. Oh my goodness Jenni! I laughed so hard because I’ve done the same thing so many times, dragging the beast away on a tarp to replant else wear! It’s a crazy, joyful, triumphant feeling though, isn’t it?😅😅😅

  6. Good job Jenny 👏🏼- you the Woman! Good choice planting a vertical plant there. What do you think of planting another Princess Anne on the other side of the steps to add balance. Think how beautiful both sides will look with the beautiful vertical pink color?! Love your videos! Happy Easter and blessings to you and your family. 🐣✝️ 💐💛💜💚

  7. Lantanas are so hard to dig out!! They really love it in my zone 9a gulf coast area as well.

  8. Hope 🍯 honey 🐝 also to to enjoy to 🔍 foods. Juices from fruit 🌴 💐 if no. No 🐝 no 🍯 honey no healthy lifestyle thanks

  9. Have an 8 year old Miss Huff. She must have a few cuts well into blooming because she wants to touch everything that grows in the vicinity. I don’t mind doing this because the total effect is gorgeous. Fills a big spot with carefree flowers which nothing eats. Think I will need a saw to dislodge her, but that ain’t happening any time soon

  10. Hop count! 😂 gardening is not the faint of heart (I took out 3 sand cherries last year with the same hop & chop method).

In the end persistence & perseverance wins. So satisfying when you get it the way you want!

  11. You've been saying you're going to remove her for so long. I'm glad you were finally able to get to it. She was definitely big and beautiful! I hope she lives on in her new home. ❤

  12. You’re not kidding when you say that gardening is a workout! I just spread 70 bags of mulch over the last 2 days and I am SORE! Happy Easter everyone!

  13. Yep what a monster cudos to you all your gardening friends are giving you a high five!! The rose will be such a nice focal point in the cottage garden . Pick blooms and enjoy the fragrance. Keeeping gardening real love it~~!

  14. Jenny, so proud of you for pulling out that plant; watch your lower back though. Keep up the great work; love your rose tree.

  15. I could tell Brenna wanted to help but decided supervising was the way to go.

  16. Jenny, did you guys get the raised bed cleaned out that had some kind of disease growing in it? I think it was last year that I saw the video. I can't wait to see the rose in bloom!!

  17. O.M.G. Jenny, this does not give me hope 😂 I have a Miss Huff that I need to move because she too needs more elbow room. I keep staring at it….it’s not moving itself. Wish me luck!

  18. I bought Princess Anne this year, too, though just the shrub. I planted it in a pot. Looking forward to seeing how your standard does!

  19. Well done in removing Miss Huff! I must say, I love the shirt you are wearing! Where is that from? Looks so comfortable for gardening! Yup I spread 100+ bags of compost over these past few days…and on steep hills! It sure is a workout! Gardening on slopes, like your cottage garden sure does a number on your knees and feet!

  20. Lol Jenny, I feel your exhaustion! I moved 2 of my Ms Huff last Sunday to a newly created flower bed so they can flourish. I had to use my HoriHori knife as well as my hopping technique just to remove its massive roots. Thanks again for all your inspirations !

  21. Wow.. your plants are so beautiful 😍❤️ and excellent upload 👌👌.
Thanks for sharing and keep connected with my channel. Happy gardening 🌹🌹🌹

  22. There’s just something about taking a big plant out and moving it somewhere else! Then putting something new in its spot! Fresh new look! 💪 👀

  23. I have several lantana that I’m going to me moving around my garden this year. Beautiful flowers…..wrong placement 😅 I did not expect them to be a perennial in my zone 7a garden.

  24. Jenny! I absolutely love you!!! “I’m okay with the bob cat” 😊 I totally understand and respect that statement and honesty. You are amazing and a joy! God bless and Happy Easter to you, Jerry and the family.
