Poor Ryuji. That scene was changed for Royal, in Vanilla P5 those two guys didn't mention anything about drag and just took him.
Wait, what happens if you go into Mementos and Makoto still doesn't have her code name? Do they just call her Makoto during the battle? Or the game simply doesn't use all the voice-lines that include her code name until you "unlock" it?
Getting triggered every time he mispronounces Makoto's name lol. (Ma – ko – toe, not Maka – toe)
Best awakening for best girl! Definitely my favorite girl in the game. I find her character arc and her struggle to keep herself under control despite all the anger inside her fascinating.
Hmm..Hmmm.. a fortune teller with an avatar. I can't wait for Caleb to get to know more about her. Probably almost as useful as Kawakami in terms of confidants. And love Makoto's Awakening its no wonder she is a fan favorite who wouldn't be when she's got a motorcycle for a Persona!
And will agree that Kaneshiro's probably the weakest of motives for doing the palace so far & kind of is a forgettable one as well since its not is personal as Kamoshida or Madarame since besides getting "blackmailed" for 3 million yen really isn't all that impactful. Although his palace theme music is a jam though.
Caleb is so right Max Mittelman who does Ryuji is a legend when it comes to voicing him he just nails every scene to fit the situation to his reaction. What really surprises me is that he also voiced Red XIII in FF7R.
That scene when Sae lashes out on Makoto really is one of the most frustrating scenes just because it is so wrong for her to blame everything on her. And the worst possible time, but if Sae actually knew what her sister was going thru at school and showed any sort of concern or compassion then Makoto wouldn't have taken it so hard. Poor Makoto has so much she is dealing with herself & unfortunately its what caused her to do something rash even though it did lead to getting the Phantom Thieves into the palace in a more realistic situation this was such an aggravating scene that could've been avoided altogether if Sae actually got to know her own sister. I do like Sae's character, but that is one where I disliked her. But like Caleb said she needs therapy and eat her damn wheaties!

Yet people still hate Makoto, despite the stalking people are blinded by it. And don’t see the amount of bullshit the principal puts on her. While she has to deal with own sisters wrath while trying to put on a brave face.
I admit I didn’t like her following but you can’t judge to quick. That’s why I actually love Makoto as a character as also being the youngest you get a lot of shit thrown on you and people guilt trip you every time assume just because you’re young you can take it all.

Ryuji really is the Chie, right down to having the best VA. Also, GOD I wish there were more scenes like that Ann and Makoto one.
Kaneshiro's intro is honestly one of the better ones in my mind. In terms of personal stakes, he's kinda second place, with Kamoshida obviously being in first, since the whole group is being affected once again. You find it underwhelming is because you went in expecting to find someone more impressive than he actually is. He's a blackmailer, drug trafficker, and extortionist. Yes, he's a Yakuza, but he's not really all that impressive. He's not supposed to be. He's, ultimately, a big fish in a small pond. Granted, Shibuya is one hell of a "small pond", but still.
His distortions even show this. He sees EVERYONE in Shibuya as a walking ATM, even though most of them have nothing to do with him and never will. He plays himself up as being bigger than he is even though he's ultimately pretty small in the grand scheme of things. You finding his intro lacking is the point. You're seeing through the facade he puts up.

This is my least favorite scene in the entire game. Not a single member of the Phantom Thieves apologizes to Makoto for their undue chastisement of her, and for accidentally pressuring her into making risky decisions.
What's even worse is that Makoto is the one who apologizes! The others then say to not play the blame game, and thus, in an insidious (albeit unconscious) way, use Makoto's self guilt to disguise their own intent to avoid having to acknowledge their own mistakes.
Their discontent towards Makoto started with them being frustrated about being caught by her, and from Ann picking up a rumor, which proves she learned nothing from being the victim of one!
I just want at least one of them to say "sorry". Is that too much to ask?

People really be shitting on Ryuji for being dumb when Ann is over here unable to answer the question of which item out of lipstick, mascara, and a smartphone, is an electronic device with minor metals?
I just want to say, it's really validating to see Caleb's reaction to Sae going off on Makoto. Growing up hearing similar kinds of rants from adults so frequently that it feels like that's just normal, then seeing someone reacting so strongly that it's not okay for a caretaker to lash out and call a kid they are raising useless or a waste of resources or an anchor dragging their life down, stuff like that… it's very cathartic. I haven't been a kid in that situation for a very long time, but it still feels validating to hear and see that defence. Thank you.
