How To Build Raised Garden Beds

Hey Guys, In this video I will be showing how to build these beautiful raised garden beds using corrugated metal. I have seen several of these built and I have found some great ways to improve the designs and make them better. Check out the video to see how to make these.

  1. Heres how to spend a ton of money to grow a negative return… great if you got money to blow in an economy thats going into recession

  2. It never ceases to amaze me the lengths and cost people will go to reinvent a garden bed.

  3. Is that ice and water shield going to leech any chemicals into the soil?

  4. I built these last summer and now my aunt is following your tutorial. We get a lot of direct sun. Have you had any growing issues with the temperature of the corrugated metal effecting the soil?

  5. Maybe have your wife talk how to next . time..Your voice is irritating to listen too..

  6. Where did you get that sticky roof material from? I see rolls of it in the store, but they are $150!

  7. Putting a moisture barrier in between the base and the side would help increase life. There is a product that you put in between the foundation and base plate when building a house. It is 6 to 8 wide and comes in a LG roll. Made out of a recycled plastic mesh!!

  8. Looks really nice. The adhesive protector that you use, is that safe for vegetables? I always get concerned about leaching of chemicals. Nice tutorial thanks!

  9. My plan is to make two of these for our new house: an 8'x8' with 2' wide arms and a 12'x12' with 4' wide arms, each 2' tall

  10. I have a few I made with the roofing material and my experience was that the roofing used didn't make it long with dirt contact and 3-4 seasons after it started to rust through and I had to dig them out I just rebuilt with 2 x 8 redwood 3 boards high and 4 x 4's in the corners for reinforcement. I used steel concrete stakes around the outside so the boards didn't bow out with the weight of the dirt.

  11. Nice job on the garden! I have to ask if you are concerned with zinc from the sheetmetal leeching into the soil? We were gonna do a raised garden and it dawned on us that we had no where near the amount of soil we would need to fill it… lol. Nice job!

  12. This is a great tutorial! The only concern id have is if that roofing sealer is going to leech chemicals into the soil and in turn, the food.

  13. painting the interior wood with bitumen would solve pretty much all your rotting problem

  14. How much for all of the material to make THIS GARDEN BED? AND HOW LONG DID IT TAKE TO MAKE?

  15. Great design, but is the pressure treated wood and the roofing sealant OK for food production?

  16. Just a little fyi find rotting logs near lively logs will take a long long time to decompose

  17. Great design. I would use nails to toenail the 2xs rather than screws because of tensile strength. It would hold quite a bit longer . Imo … Other than that this is great. quality build

  18. Never use pressure treated wood for garden beds. The chemicals in the wood will seep into the soil, then seep into the food you're growing.
