  1. your property is real, your family is real and lets face facts we all have a mess somewhere in the house or garden, im slowely cleaning the garden up and as my hubbie is calling me becoming" hippie" (im not but he thinks people who do what we all do is a bit weird even though he is super proud of me)and i can tell u my work space is a mess and there is another couple off rooms that i keep saying "we need to go to the tip" but it doesnt happen

  2. So sorry that your seedlings got trashed. That was such a shame. Buying starts and putting them in now will give you some nice cold weather veggies. Karen

  3. Hi Nyssa and Darryl happy easter hope it was wonderful, just a thought have you guys thought of putting your pigs or your birds in that garden to clean it up would be easy on you guys they would clean it up in no time, just something to think about 😊

  4. Hey Nyssa! I felt for you when you said you were embarrassed about things around your property. Please don't feel bad about a work in progress. I'm dealing with pretty much the same thing right now so I truly understand. Take care of yourself as well.

  5. Hey Nyssa,You guys have been very busy.Sorry you are fighting the elements of Mother Nature. I understand how that cold weather makes you feel I share your pain. Rain is rough on me too. I take to the bed in that kind of weather. Hang in there things will turn around soon. Enjoyed the lizard release TFS!!!

  6. Your property is amazing..so are you..we all have an area that we feel "eeee"..homelife is alot of work..never feel embarassed..life is how it is, isnt it?! .."mammoth" is a word that comes to my mind! Kindest regards Karolyn..(be kind to yourself)

  7. You sound a bit down in the dumps, you poor thing. Having pain can drag you down. Is it possible to put either the pigs or chickens in your garden area. They would get rid of those weeds, saving your backs!

  8. ….it will all work out…it's hard when there is so much h to do…slowly slowly catchy monkey..is the say…Nyssa I think your visitors are actually geese..lol

  9. It’s so hard to stay motivated sometimes. Especially when pain factors into what you can get done. One day of hard work can sometimes mean 1-2 days to recover and, unfortunately get less done. Keep it up though- you’ll get there.

  10. I think your newcomers are geese!!! thats what they looked like and sounded like to me. Hopefully someone didn't dump them as it does happen unfortunately

  11. If there are farms near you and they make Baleage (wrapped silage), they may have old bales that are no good to feed out to stock – makes amazing mulch/compost on the garden. I use it on all mine. Sometimes I put old hay under it as well, then the baleage stops the seeds in the hay growing. Egyptian walking onions, do you divide them and plant them out, first time growing them and mine are in clumps, a bit like shallots grow. They didn’t put up flowers or bend over and “walk” this season, but I did plant them as tiny bulbets.

  12. Hi Nyssa. You have a lot on your plate. I appreciate you being honest about your struggles. So many people on social media look 'perfect' and make the rest of us feel bad about ourselves. I love that you are making healthy food for your family on a tight budget. Keep going!

  13. I'd be deflated seeing the seedlings tossed around from the wind you had. I think this last season was just bad weather wise for growing things. I wondered about the soil too but I don't think so due to same results in different soils. I never have luck with Basil growing. Going to try growing it inside in a special (don't know the name) apparatus for herb growing that I got for Christmas. I have heaps of Tamarillo seedlings going well. Plus neighbour gave me a bag of the fruit I need to process. But can't live just on them to eat. I have cleared all from one area ready to plant whatever I can in winter crops. Think will do some direct sowing too. You have a great deal to do in the garden areas. Need a one day working bee perhaps with the kids. D has a lot to do too. Bucketing down at the moment, so I don't think much progress will happen today. Also painting prep going on inside but need to get more paint. I'm sick at the moment, some cold thing, headaches too. Always something. Rome wasn't built in a day! The geese were probably attracted to your area with all the fowl being there and having a rest on some journey of theirs maybe.

  14. I love and appreciate your realness! You don’t need to stress out about or feel bad for the things you can’t control!! You have become one of my very favorite you tube channels. Also, I need your Thermomix ID info. Iam debating on purchasing one but it asks for your info to ensure you will get the credit. Thank you!!

  15. I don’t see anything to be embarrassed about. You’ve just had super hot weather, you live off grid, you cook everything from scratch, you are a wife, a mom, and you work from home
as well and on top of that you have chronic health issues. I’m impressed you can string a coherent sentence together lol.
    Always enjoy your videos

  16. Do test yourself soil. I understand the cold weather and joints hurting. Love and light Nyssa I hope you start to get a bit better with weather change

  17. If I can suggest looking at your time that makes the most money, saving money on dinner and making YouTube videos to me would outway the cost of buying seedlings and relieve some of the pressure on yourself. The size of your garden looks overwhelming to me, can you work on producing greens out of a small garden and just a few varieties of greens? You keep a simple structure to your food prep, could you do the same for your garden? I so enjoy your videos 🙂

  18. I love that you're so real – it what keeps me engaged!! You seem so overwhelmed with so much to do… having been there a lot, and of course I'm not being critical, I'm being real – just focus on one spot at a time! Get one garden bed done properly, or one building space done fully before you get to the next bit! We often try to get so much done at once and it fails! Good luck for the garden this year!!

  19. Hey Nyssa🥰 I’m sorry the cold weather is flaring up everything & giving you pain. I didn’t think the camera work was so bad, I was more worried about you getting burnt without a hat on.
It’s soooooo nice to see the gorgeous blue sky!!!!! It’s been weeks down here in Melbourne since I’ve seen any blue sky & sunshine 🌞
Lovely of those ducks to come & visit but wouldn’t it be great if eat the weeds 😂🤣😂 I wonder how far they have wandered. I hope the Basil can survive in the kitchen 🌿
The glass house is an awesome area & great having the water supply already there.
    Take good care 🥰

  20. Glad your all okay, sorry to hear everything is playing up ( no fun ). Sorry about the garden being hit again, we had hail here in Ireland yesterday, although will say nothing on the scale you described, more like petit pois, would say you might think more like heavy rain in Australia.
Make sure you look after yourself Nyssa you've had a lot go on as well as the usual this month. As my mother In-law used to say; Look after No 1, as know one else will.

  21. Honestly it looks like you’ve made a lot of progress! You’ll get there. Recruit the kiddos! Even if they all spend 1/2 hour weeding with you, that’s 3 man hours of work done. I bribe mine with a yummy treat afterwards to cut down on the moaning! 😂

  22. Give yourself grace Nyssa, you are an amazing mum. I can’t be bothered on a daily and I’ve resigned myself to that fact 😆 I wish I lived close! I’d pop over and help you sort your gardens out for a slice off your amazing sourdough pizza! Much love and admiration from the UK 🇬🇧
