Today’s Japan Walking Tour is Ritsurin Garden in Takamatsu, Kagawa Prefecture.
Ritsurin Garden is Japan’s largest cultural property garden. Built for a daimyo during the Edo period, this garden consists of 6 ponds and 13 hills in front of Mt. Shiun. Seasonal flowers and 1,000 well-maintained pine trees create a beautiful landscape, earning three stars in the Michelin Green Guide Japan. The garden is designed for leisurely strolls, so you can enjoy the scenery of the garden from all angles.
