Nasturtium: The Perfect Companion Plant for Your Garden

Hey DirtMagicians! 👋🏼🪄

Today we have the gorgeous trailing nasturtium (Latine name Tropaeolum). Not only does she add vibrant colors to our garden beds, but she’s also a natural trap crop for aphids (not to mention every part of her is edible)! Did you also know that nasturtium can offer several potential health benefits? It’s rich in vitamin C, which can help boost your immune system, and also contains antioxidants to reduce the risk of certain diseases. The leaves also act as a natural expectorant to relieve coughs and colds and support digestive health.

Nasturtium is also a great nectar source for hummingbirds! Unlike other flowers whose nectar is fructose and glucose, nasturtiums produce sucrose so it’s extra tasty for them 😋

Have you tried growing Nasturtium in your garden?
