  1. 24Β°? hell when the sun come up here it's already 32Β° and by the afternoon it's 41Β° With the two AC units on I can manage to keep it 24Β° in my house!

  2. The first video I watched of you was building that compost bin I thought it was a comedy show. Get on with something else ask your son to bring down the hand saw. A stitch in time saves nine and a hospital visit.

  3. You are on the right track Tony, a bar at the top, but the secret and best way to fix is to use bolts, washers and wingnuts, this is so you never need a power tool to dismantle in future, so that is your top bar done, then fit any side panels in the same way to the top bar, the weight of the compost will keep it in place at the bottom. Max use and flexibility, minimal intervention or work…Steve…πŸ™‚

  4. I would swap the compost bays with the potato bed so you can access all areas πŸ˜‰πŸ˜πŸŒ±πŸ›β˜€οΈ

  5. Wow 9 years that patience πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ and hopefully everyone will respect her space while walking through (I know you will). Good luck to her and your lots looking fantastic πŸ‘πŸ‘. Stay safe have a great week

  6. No hearing or eye protection and using the wrong tool for the job. I'm proud of you for not ending up in A&E.

  7. Years ago Tony the late Kenny Everett used to have a DIY expert on his show called Reg you're not related by any chance?…..

  8. Why did you not just unscrew the planks & lift them out & then screw them back on when finished

  9. Sunday July 10. Pass along birthday greetings to Steve from GSU if you have a chance.πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦β€οΈπŸ…πŸͺ΄πŸŒ±πŸ‘©β€πŸŒΎπŸ₯•

  10. A friend and myself just build a double bay compost station entirely with scraps left behind by former house owners. Five days. Beauty. Our husbands stayed out of it. Marked safe from make diy skills. Lol!

  11. Ohhhhh Tony, you so make me laugh. I thought of you last night when I lost the plot in the tunnel and yanked out all my calendula,! I thought of you and those gooseberry bushes immediately🀣. I'm so independent and get myself into a right pickle, and I'm so pleased nobody could see. I was yelling at you – 'get a bloody chainsaw, mun', 'give it a boot' πŸ˜‚. My problem solver to most things. Take care – thanks for the giggleπŸ™ƒ

  12. Hi Tony, you are so funny when doing DIY 🀣 you got it started well done, thanks for sharing and take care πŸ™‚

  13. That was so funny Tony, when you were struggling with that post I had a feeling that you put concrete down!

  14. I can't work out what ya' doin' man!! It's like Laurel and Hardy without the straight man….lol, thank you for cheering me up Tony.

  15. Great comedy video Tony…made me laugh. I offer my DIY services for garden tips. I picked up from few gardeners using pallets and line them, then using same tip you had for door system is good. I seen people making door like garden gate.i don't think it will be ideal for you…were your beds are placed. Tony from Simplify Garden got good set up for compost bins..failing that,I come cheapπŸ˜‚ COVID gardener from Scotland

  16. What about using the concrete fence posts with the slots in then you can slide in your mid sections.
Concrete them in. Nice and solid. Hope this helps Tony.😁

  17. How about replacing the wood panels you took out with cattle panel or concrete wire. Tack it to the posts so it’s removable…..drill hole for use of large washers, bolts and wing nuts. Way lighter to move around and switch up.
I use geobin’s myself and I keep it stirred up with this corkscrew tool. Works well for me, and the geobin opens up easy. I am retired and have to keep aging gracefully with my garden.

  18. Hi Tony, It Might not of been a good video for you… but for us was funny πŸ˜„πŸ˜„ you should make it so the slats are removable then makes your life so much easier.

  19. All the p's Tony?. Piss poor planning pertains piss poor performance, on the other hand Perfect planning prevents piss poor perfromance. Wrong tool, try a recip saw.

  20. Dig it out and throw it into the next Tony. Damn man, you need my book just for ref don't use tap water it will kill your microbes off and water is the ky to good compost

  21. Great update Tony , I'm shattered just watching lol , but Great job one and all and the compost looks great too πŸ‘

  22. What I want to know is, why didn't you leave the bays intact and move the material from the end bay to the centre? I have no idea why you destroyed those well built bays. πŸ€”πŸ˜’

  23. Hiya Toni, well I did need a wee giggle today as I sit here watching with a broken foot bone! I enjoy your real life unedited videos lol! My partner & I have built a fence I was in charge of the air nail gun! So I would have suggested a reciprocating saw to remove current wood slats, suggest using a slat system at front of compost bins add decrease slats as needed hope that makes sense? Great news re the plot next door keep me posted. Blessings to you and yours Thankyou Ontario Canada πŸπŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦

  24. if you want ease of use, consider diy-ing a compost tumble, you turn is with a handle and no need to dig over a big pile, it composts faster as well, slotted dividers will get branches and such stuck in between so thje easy slotting thing doesn't work. you can also buy compost tumblers if you prefer. in earth worm bins work even better and they do all the work for you. plenty of vids on this on youtube, so look it up

  25. You're probably right about it being a blessing not having the extra plot Tony.
I went from a half to a full and then back again. It's difficult when you're working but I followed your example with the raised beds which makes it much easier to manage. I hope the new Tennant will allow you to keep us updated on the progress with that plot.
I rather liked your compost bins but I will enjoy seeing what ever evolution comes next.
Well done, I managed about two hours on my plot this morning before the 30+ degrees C here in Yorkshire became unbearable.

  26. Oh Tony, I was hoping you walked away and picked a tomato and lettuce instead, do big jobs when it’s cooler, just put an add on your channel for someone to do the sawing for you please. There must be someone who lives near to give you some diy time, you could pay them with produce I would.πŸ€¨πŸ€”πŸ˜‚

  27. hi tony why not build new compost bins where your potatoe tub are then put potatoe tubs where the compost where

  28. I have a crop of weeds in the front garden and the back. But today was 30, not a cloud in the sky and bright sun of course. I don't pull weeds in that kind of a day. Tomorrow will be cooler.

  29. Hey Tony πŸ‘‹ Hew Richards has a fantastic slotted compost bin… it is just what you're looking for. I think he made it from pallet wood. You can move it anywhere and you can leave it where it is. It's a few years ago but the videos is still online on his YouTube channel. πŸ‘All the best from County Down.

  30. I have to say that you made my day. I felt for you but you were hilarious. Bless you, you tried hard but DIY is not your forte. How you got away without ending up in A and E, I will never know!
Keep gardening and making me smile πŸ˜ƒ
