In today’s Quickie, we’re all about making it easy, and nothing is easier than fertilizing your Garlic. It knows what it wants, and when it wants it. So if YOU want the biggest bulbs this year come harvest time, then this video is right up your alley.

  2. This is my first time growing garlic. I didn't realize it needed fertilizer. Thanks for the video!

  3. I live in Florida and my hardiness zone is 9b. I planted some ajo rojo. This is my first time planting garlic and I'm kinda nervous. I hope I get a good harvest. I did have to simulate vernilization in my fridge for a month before planting. Thanks for this video.

  4. Am in the tropics but when I plant garlic I don't see any bulb at all it only grows in the leaves but nothing underneath

  5. Another great episode. Hey, I have a 511 fertilizer that is several years old. Do you know long do they last? Thanks!

  6. I planted half-dead moldy garlic last November. We were originally going to throw it out, but I saw it had developed roots and shoots, so I decided to give it a go. Unfortunately it had come from a peeled batch, which meant it was lacking protection, and I don't think any of it survived. I'll have to try again with some fresh healthy bulbs this autumn.

  7. Jeff, thanks to you I planted my first crop of garlic last fall. I'm thankful for the fertilizer information. I'm curious if you have any trouble with your dog digging where you have used fish fertilizer?

  8. I was late on planting mine in zone 7B (Jan) but it seems to be sprouting and growing tall! Fingers crossed something good is happening under the soil in its grow bag. It does get watered by the sprinklers a few times a week. I’ll be sure to fertilize in the next couple of days! Thanks Jeff!

  9. Mine sure doesn't look as hardy as yours. I am zone 6a and we had a crazy winter warm spell in January that fooled it then froze it. I am holding out hope though!

  10. It looks like different countries have different ways of cultivation.. Good presentation 👍🏼

  11. Your videos are so so detailed from soil to feed, now that I have my home, the back garden is getting ready for me, the only things I've grown in the kitchen window was a coriander/cilantro, cut the first top leaves (I thimk I got 6) they were tiny, 😁, the rest died, I bet I didn't feed it what I was supposed to, I was told I cannot kill them, I was lied to 😂, I grew two pits of lemon, ones doing good, hubby's seen it's doing good so he put it in the window upstairs, the other lemon pit leaves that have popped up don't seem to be doing well, I also experimented with a date pit, it looks good & healthy, but I can bet you £5, I can predict the same future as the coriander. Being disabled I will need raised plant beds & the cameras soil that each item needs. I follow another guy, he showed what his soil was like (clay) so he piled up on it, and put a boundary so that the new soil doesn't wash away, then when the grass grew on top of that lovely soil he took the boundary away. I have saved loads of your videos when I start planting. I want to become self sufficient. I want 3 types of potatoes, yellow onions, red onions, coriander, garlic, ginger, lettuce, carrots, peas, mint, bell peppers, green chillies, courgettes, cucumbers, spinach three other type of peppers. Just a small batch of each. I want all organic, I still need to learn about fruit flies and pests and what to use that is non chemical. You have tons of videos for me, start to finish 🥰🥰🥰🥰🙏🙏🙏🙏😘😘😘😘😍😍😍😍

  12. Hello from Northern Norway! Thank you so much, you saved my garlic with this video.
I've only grown garlic once before and they were very small.
Think it will be better this year, thanks to you!

  13. I asked my rabbits what they recommend for manufacturers specifications. They just wiggled their nose.

  14. I planted my garlic in the fall here in Florida. Unfortunately😊 I didn't know the difference between hard and soft neck until I had already planted it. And I saw a video explaining the difference. I assumed I would have a bad harvest since I planted hard neck from the grocery store. The garlic leaves turned yellow and fell over in April. Not a total loss, I harvested those and got 3-4 individual cloves from each one I planted. Next year I'll order soft neck. We just don't get enough cold weather here in Florida for hard neck. Thanks for all the quickies. They're very helpful without all the extra fluff that makes videos long and boring.😊😊😊😊😊

  15. My one row of garlic that I planted last fall seems to be doing very well! It's about 6 or 7 inches tall at this point. Now I wish I'd planted MORE, especially in containers! LOL But thanks to you, now I know what and when to feed them. Spring is sort of here, about 30 miles north of Toronto, but it's going down to minus 3 tonight, and I JUST took the snowblower off my garden tractor. I'm hoping for the best! Happy gardening!
