I deliver some parts from https://www.armsplant.co.uk/ to Olivers and get an update on my 3170. I also have a good look round a selection of ex airport snow clearance JCB Fastrac 3185 and 3170’s.
They Dont use Salt on Airfields,They only use Hot De icer Liquid that is Not Corrosive. If They Used Road Salt All the Aircraft Would be Scrap and Falling out of the sky on your House. I Worked on a RAF Base for 8 Years,Mechanic for Last 14 years.
Hello George that last 3185 just needs abit of tlc and would look tidy and yours will sounds beautiful when done with the new head and exhaust manifold that Cummins engine will purr once again I can’t wait 👍👍
Just give me an old Fastrac 185 … 😊 or a wee perkins powered Tranter 🤔 great for nippin to the shops 😂. Your fastrac is going to put smiles on yer face once you get her back.. it will all be worth it.. stay safe 🏴
George the 5th wheel job be handy for some man drawing bales with attic trailer. Salt n Fert a disaster on machinery. Be a great buy for someone. Keep up da great vids. 👍👍
9:19 won’t be CBs, they would have been on the airband channel so they can communicate with airport ground control, it’ll be a big reason why they are missing. Thanks for the reply earlier about the Cummins engine, i’m a big fan of the 6BT, my favourite truck, a Leyland Daf 45-150 Turbo had a 6BT under the cab, back in the days before limiters, mine would do 90 ! (Mph not Kph) Early of a Saturday morning i would blast down the M6/M1 from Birmingham to Croydon cutting through central London after a week of night trunking having saved my fuel money all week by not exceeding 56mph which would give me enough left to dash back so i could get home before 4am & still have a Saturday to enjoy after a 8 hour sleep. The rest of the week i never got home much before 6am. My old 1996 Leyland didn’t have cruise control so i had a throttle stick that was cut just right that it would hold the speed around 56, crazy days.
