  1. Well done on your subscribers, but thoroughly deserved Emma. I did fleece my potatoes, they're a bit taller than yours and they still got touched with the frost. The next morning some of the leaves were drooping. I cut those off today. Dont know if that was the right thing to do, but Google said more shoots will come. I think the potatoes will be ok as they were planted quite deep. I think we're in for one more frost up here. I just want it to warm up! Here's to more sunny days x

  2. Hi Emma the plot is looking great, if you are going to put new netting on the new hoop bed I would take the canes off as if its windy the canes will stretch the new netting and put a hole in, I learned from my past mistakes. take care Steve

  3. I just wondered if you could give us a closer look at the frame work of the polly tunnel ,also how does it stand up to high winds , as I am thinking of getting one Thank you Emma

  4. Can anyone recommend an app that's good for weather? I reckon I check the approximately 3 times a day on my pixel phone, and at no point did it predict a frost. (I'm also in London and apparently there was one)

  5. Well you did it again another amazing video!! Your plot is turning out to be so very beautiful keep up the great work 😃

  6. I was lucky the frost seemed to miss where I live the other day, but when I drove to work, the cars in the next village were covered in frost. I only have onions and broad beans out at the moment, I haven’t been brave enough to plant anything else out, the peas are going out this weekend though, I’m running out of space indoors.

  7. When sawing use the whole length of the blade not just back and forth on a small section of the blade.

  8. My mum got an allotment for the first time in February and has been watching your videos incessantly. I went with her today to help her set up a couple of raised beds, and as she was transferring her onions from the greenhouse to the beds, she kept just saying "wack em in". I burst out laughing because I've never heard her say that before and she has 100% gotten that from you. Me and my mum both love the channel.

  9. You may have been able to save those cucumbers. The amount of times that I have saved a dehydated tomato, celery, dahlia… seedling when it is flopped over, stems completely dehydrated, tepid colour, leaves dried out and looks dead are countless. I don't think you had a dehydration issue, but I've saved smaller seedlings in far worse condition.

  10. Do cats and foxes go toilet in your beds? I'm constantly picking up after both in my garden, I feel like I can just 'sense' when one of them having been taking a dump in my garden.

  11. I actually grow kale in my flower beds just for the yellow flowers. They look so pretty and airy filling in the gaps between my roses that everyone compliments them and asks what they are. Just to encourage your pak choi idea 😊

  12. Hiya Emma most enjoyed a visit plot is looking fab. Agree how ironic you were sent some cat treats? Lol. The sun is soo important for whatever space you may have. I need to do some changes in my garden. Love Cosmos loads of varieties. Blessings luv Ontario Canada 🇨🇦🐝

  13. Hiya Emma forgot to mention. Re social platforms I personally only follow ytube. 🇨🇦🐝

  14. Emma after a big slug attack last year, I have been soaking cotton balls in peppermint oil, put the balls in a small bowl and I left the bowls around my crops, it’s amazing keeps slugs, snails cats and squirrels away. They hate the smell. I haven’t seen one yet..
Could be a good idea for your poly tunnel 👍

  15. We regularly get snow in May up here 🙂 I start everything much later than everyone else. it all catches up in the end.

  16. When growing your sweetcorn, you can grow them in toilet roll tubes and when you transplant them, you just put the whole tube on the ground and they will grow really well and the tube will decompose.

  17. You will find many gardeners check weather forecasts for future reference, the frost had been forecast for at least 4 days before Sunday and Monday .If you know it is coming you can take appropriate action to save your tender plants . Your Rhubarb could be going to flower if it is a flower break it off at the stem NOT CUT IT you don’t want your plant to flower and go to seed, and don’t cover the first year to force just let it grow at its own speed for at least 12 months and don’t harvest any this year . Put some of your Sweetcorn in a sealed tub Chinese takeaway type on damp kitchen roll in a warm place airing cupboard is good for 3 or 4 days ,once chitted place in pots of compost will be through in a couple of days keep away from any cold as they are very tender.

  18. Another great video Emma, so many updates. Think I might try the sunflowers direct in the beds too. C what happens.
2nd week of May for all my planting out is my rule of thumb 😊

  19. Great vid, thank you, seen several now and it's lovely to see your allotment developing. On the blue water pipe net construction, I use the full bamboo length on the sides to provide a stronger structure against winds, and cable ties to hold the bamboos in place. I've got cherry tree envy as well, mines just two years old.😊

  20. Hi Emma another nice trip round your allotment you are doing so well love your channel and your saying wack er in keep putting out the videos love them 😊

  21. Emma, have you looked into using Tulle? There is a lady who uses this netting cloth for her gardens….so do I….

  22. 'Imagine this being the opening of gardens world!?' Haha that made me proper belly laugh. To be honest I'd prefer it if Monty don was just running around screaming 'did it all die??! Hilarious' 😂
