  1. I live on the east coast (7A)… and I realize that there are big differences between your area and mine and the rules of gardening… Do you have anyone you can recommend that’s on the East Coast or perhaps you can give us some tips for East Coast versus where you are… Although New Jersey grows the best tomatoes in the world we do have a lot of water and we get a lot of issues with growing them and it seems to be the only fruit trees that we grow are apples cherries peaches

  2. Always enjoy your content Brian!! Well produced channel. Thanks for the contest with the HoseLink!! I can't believe I won!! I was jumping up and down! I sent a message through your website with my email/mailing address, then one with my phone number. Please let me know if I need to do anything else! 🤩 THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

  3. Can't tell from video, but looks like that tall branch on potted citrus might be a sucker off the root stock.

  4. I have a question about peach and apricot trees. We have one of each, purchased last June (in So Cal). They are still in the original black nursery pots (I think they are 7 gallon). The peach is an early blume variety so it currently has young peaches. Do we need to wait to transplant to a bigger pot or can we do it now? The apricot just got leaves but no flowers yet. Can we move to a bigger pot now?

  5. You should see what 17 degrees did to my citrus. I'm northern Florida and this was the worst winter I've ever seen.

  6. That was good info and the way you transplanted the tree in the pot was awesome, so much easier. Thanks for sharing.

  7. I love Satsuma tangerines. I have 3 of them. They’re dwarf but the trees are always loaded every year. I live in SoCal.🤩💕

  8. I noticed you didn’t mention leafminer disease which I’ve been dealing with on my lime and orange trees. I am treating with Spinosad insecticide. Thanks for all the good info planting citrus!

  9. Would a smart watering mat work for citrus. Where I would need to place my citrus tree I have no easy access to water

  10. I'm watching stuff I won't even plant here. Even in pots, we don't have anywhere warm to move them to in the winter.

  11. I’m going to try growing either lemon or orange trees on the side of my house. It gets tropical there in the Summer sunlight and heat all day long!!

  12. Thanks Brian! How about the lemon tree. I prune mine at the last house and didn't grow anymore!☹️

  13. Ive been growing a mandarin orange tree for about 12 years in a pot. Repotted several times. Trained almost like a bonsai. Only problem is I've never been able to get it to flower. 🤦🏻‍♂️💔😢

  14. Thank you for this, especially your potting method, so much easier! I have two Meyer Lemons, and a Bears Lime in pots here in NC, planted last year. That adjustment time would have been good to know when I brought them outside. They are looking a little stressed. Do I need to do an adjustment period when I bring them in for the winter as well? They looked stressed then too.

  15. I've lost quite a few citrus trees in pots. 🍋 From your video over and under watering. We get strong winds and loose our blossoms and baby lemons, any tips?? Thanks

  16. We have an orange tree in a pot. This is year four I believe. This year it is looking a bit sad, but last year it was FULL! I saved and planted some seeds in a 5 gallon bucket last fall and now have 5 more little trees! I'll be transferring them to pots as well.
We had a COLD winter here in middle GA this last winter. I had to bring ours into the garage. I am hoping to build a greenhouse or at least a high tunnel I can keep heated for plants this year. Especially since I'll have 6 now!

  17. Unless you SPECIFICALLY grow dwarf container citrus on a patio deck or concrete flooring – expect minimal size and fruit production – only becoming a cosmetic plant. Any REAL container for any REAL citrus (orange, lemon, kumquat, loquat, lime, …) you need to properly grow them in 100 gallon containers. Don't be stoopid and think that root bound citrus … who can grow to 15-20 ft tall x 15-20 ft around … will grow in a tiny 1-5 gallon black plastic container – someone needs to boink your head with a stick ! Properly compost, organic matter, addendums, acid ph soil, and additional sugar infused fertilizer irrigation. If you grow citrus in small containers – then grow heather, lavendar, herbs, or small shrubs instead – and don't have a prohibitive environment for proper citrus growth and fruiting.

  18. Love seeing your property come together . . . So beautiful. I’m in Northern California and something loves new growth on my citrus. I’m thinking it’s leaf miners. I have so spray new growth weekly. I’ve got that copper spay I use on the olive trees for spider mites. Your recommendation for citrus and leaf minors?

  19. I have a friend who has had citrus in his business location – that are never tended or harvested. Any fruitings have multiple overwinterings and dehydrations – and when harvested – they are the most-delicious and sugary of fruits you could have. If you grow citrus – then harvest and use them – or don't grow them at all ! USE or DON'T ! There is no halfway of planting and then ignoring citrus and any later life and fruitings. If you don't have proper gardening skills and responsibility – then don't grow citrus. Same attitude for orchards, vineyards, gardens, vegs, herbs, etc. As Yoda says, "there is no try – there is only DO"

  20. Perfect timing!! Been wanting to grow oranges, apples, and grape fruit. Thank you

  21. I actually went back, thinking I missed it, but what citrus did you actually plant? Thank you!

  22. Another great tutorial 👍🏼 I might never be able to plant these, but I just love learning about different ways to care for and grow plants.

  23. I planted 4 seeds from a lemon in a pot. I now have 4 seedlings maybe 7” tall. When should they be transferred to their own pots? Thanks

  24. Thank you for this!! I've always wanted citrus trees but didn't think they would survive do to Louisiana temps dropping in the winter. I had no idea I could grow them in a large pot. Definitely going to give this a try!!

  25. I just purchased the most beautiful glazed Mexican pot yesterday! since I saw it I can't picture anything in it besides a lemon tree!! perfect timing to make sure my new lemon baby is off to its best life!!! thank you!!

  26. Thanks for this, I just planted a lime in a pot and the leaves are quite yellow 2 weeks later. I used citrus cactus potting mix, and half the slow release fertilizer amount (because online couldn’t decide y or no to fertilize when planting). I’m considering repotting because I just went up one pot size vs what will be final size, but worried it might be too much trauma. Are your trees staying in those size pots or will they move up?
