Creating Colorful Shade Containers | Gardening with Creekside

I am creating two colorful shade containers for our back porch that will bring us loads of color and interest the entire growing season while complimenting the landscape around them. Just because you have a shady area doesn’t mean that you can’t have loads of flowers and color!

  1. I love your process!! I understand it ! I put the pots in the pots leave it for awhile and come back to it if I still love it than I plant it .

  2. I want to hang out on your patio…before the really hot days of summer. You always work diligently to bring us great content and I'm liking it. I especially like you plant containers for their potential growth rather than stuffing them for instant beauty that later looks stressed.
That verbena! Blooms are the size of geraniums.
Jenny, you look exceptionally pretty today. Perfect makeup.

  3. Would like to ask the name of the store or manufacturer where you got your patio dining furniture set. Also, is it teak and what, if any, maintenance does it require? Thanks for all the inspiration. Everything is so tranquil and peaceful in your beautiful backyard.🌺🌧️🌸

  4. Fun and informative! Never miss an opportunity to see your beautiful dog cruising around checking on the perimeter. Good girl!

  5. I use trailing torenias every year in my containers. They can take full, all-day sun without any problem! I live in Florida. The label says shade though.😊. Wish I could share a photo.

  6. Brenari show she’s very observant today. She loves her mummy.
Oh yes back to the plants.😂. Great planting love them. Thank you so very much for sharing this with us.🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
    PS : I probably didn’t spell puppies name right.😂😂😂

  7. Beautiful!! LOVE your back patio!! I am in zone 8b and SO understand what you mean about the humidity. I appreciate you talking about it and plants that thrive in our humidity. Caladiums are one of my go-tos! They're gorgeous!
    Happy gardening! 🌼

  8. Hi there, I’m relatively new to your videos, and I’m loving watching the way you put plants together, because I have some areas that have shade on one half and lots of sun on the other. Your space is truly beautiful, but the star of the show is your doggie! He is absolutely gorgeous ! 😊 I look forward to watching more of your videos. I’m in Ontario, Canada 🇨🇦 zone 5.
From one zone to another, Happy Gardening 🧑‍🌾

  9. 100% agree about using high quality potting soil. I was using the big name brand potting soil plus their fertilizer and my annuals would struggle so hard at the height of summer and stop blooming. One of my local garden center’s started carrying espoma last year and that’s what I’m getting from now own. And I’ve switched to Jack’s blossom booster. Huge improvement.

  10. I don’t believe your begonias will be staying up in the rafters where you can’t see them,
I have been growing begonias for decades. Convinced that is about the worst placement ever.

  11. That trough is really lovely! I want to try a container with caladiums, mine didn't perform that well in the ground, but I'm also new to gardening with them.

  12. You are a inspiration Jenny and a professional you make things so enjoyable! Love the colors that you have done!
