The biggest mistake we encounter from our customers is planting okra seeds too soon in the season. There are many factors in getting it right when it comes to growing lots of Okra, for instance, starting seeds at the right time, choosing the right variety, fertilization, knowing when to harvest, and much more! Join us tonight as we discuss one of our favorite things to grow and eat! Okra! Let’s Grow Together!

the old goat is behind Hoss between the two framed placks.
Is there any taste difference in the different varieties? I always soak my seeds before planting, seems to get them going quicker. My grandmother always put okra in her peas when she cooked them. She said it seasons the peas! We like okra and tomatoes and frying it. Think I might try that sauté version you talked about! The old Goat is behind Greg between the two little signs.
Growing okra here. Hail storm this week beat them up a bit. Hoping they recover. The Old Goat is on the shelf between the two framed signs.

I have grown Choppee okra for years. An Heirloom from South Carolina.
My favorite way To cook Okra is Fried!! Love, love, love it. My husband likes pickled and what I call, snotty okra. It's all about the fried for me. I freeze the okra after I bread it… when I'm ready to cook okra, I dip the froze okra in an egg bath and dip the okra again in cornmeal, flour, salt, pepper, and mashed potato flakes with a little corn starch to help it hang on to the okra, then it's off to the frying pan.
My favorite way to eat okra is fried. I hope to get some started in the garden if the weather would cooperate. The old goat is behind Greg in between the two pictures.
Oh yeah, I AM….. from the south, my favorite way to eat okra would be fried.
