  1. To my knowledge Cosmos are annuals in our climate but you can collect seeds or hope it self seeds 😊

  2. My great grandmother (Mother’s side) had a small rose garden with maybe 5 shrubs. She would cut flowers for the dinner table. My Mom had my Dad to dig up the one red rose bush remaining when her house was sold 20 years ago. I have it now.

Then later my grandfather (Dad’s side) loved roses. He had 3 large red-ish pink floribundas in his landscape. Two days after his death, my Dad rescued them from the curb when his step mother had dug them out. I have them now as well.

My mother used to grow gladiolus against our little house. Maybe I should add some of them to my cut flower patch.

I’ve added to them some of my favorites but I love looking after them and bringing them into the house in arrangements.

  3. Loved the video with yourself and Robin this morning. I can't wait to see the flowerbed flourishing. I'm looking forward to Chelsea aswell.

  4. Lupin and Dahlia are my childhood flowers. Mum and dad don’t garden much, but somehow they always manage to put the dahlias out in the front garden. I mean edge to edge, a garden full of dahlias and lift them in the winter and down the side of the path was a row of Lupin, and we used to pretend they were umbrellas After we watched the war films and seen the geisha girls under the sunny umbrellas 😂

  5. Oh Sean…I feel your pain. The robin is so adorable. I can't wait to see those beautiful blooms.

  6. ‘See, when you don’t know what you’re saying, it’s a sure sign it’s time for a cup of tea, isn’t it?’ 😂☕️

  7. Morning Sean, I’m excited too see what pops up, and how they fair, good luck. Always done well from Wilko, but saying that, looking forward to seeing my posh dahlias from Suttons. Turned 50 myself, and I’ve been considering raised beds too. How expensive are railway sleepers😮

  8. The flower that first comes to my mind is the beautiful blue cornflower (Centaurea cyanus, Blue Boy Bachelor's Button), when I used to cycle to school (well I'm a Dutch woman, we've been cycling since kindergarten 🙂 ) I always passed fields in the summer full of cornflowers.

The sea of deep blue as far as you could see has always stayed with me.

And what sometimes made it even more beautiful was that every now and then there was a stray poppy in between 🙂 . A small red dot in the sea of blue.

  9. What a lovely patch that will be Sean, very colourful.. My dad was a great gardener and I remember so many flowers that I loved, that he grew, Lupins, Wallflowers , Dahlias to name a few. .Precious memories .. I loved the little Robin, how sweet they are .I can see him becoming a little friend for you .. .

  10. Happy belated birthday Sean!🎉 Great footage of the robin! The flower I remember as a child is Lavender. Mum grew a massive bush that was always covered in bees.🪻🐝

  11. Hi Sean. Is this the Rusty plot. I can't remember where you are. Enjoying your video here in Canada.

  12. Sean, you sound like me getting up. LOL. I really can't kneel anymore, so my favorite tool is a shovel/spade. I use it to weed, plant, etc. I have never seen anyone plant a whole package of bulbs in a single hole before. I will be looking forward to seeing it when they bloom. I like your intuitive approach, not drawing a bed and mapping it all out. I see that in many videos. Its just not my style. Anyway thanks for sharing your garden day with us.

  13. I love Lillie of the Vallie they grew in a ladies house were my mother used to clean i have them in my garden now thought only posh people had them funny how you think when your a kid

  14. Look forward to seeing it all in full bloom, well done for being healthy and drinking water😊 you can have a cup of tea when you get home, carnations are my favourite

  15. Looking forward to seeing them all in bloom. I recently did something at B&Q. Lost of freesias & gladioli and a few iris.
Seed potatoes Ive not grown. Far too many lol

  16. Hi Sean. Isn’t your robin just beautiful! He certainly trusts you! Looking forward to the flowers☘️
