I actually have a question from a video a you posted a number of years ago. Back to Eden garden. For the base people were using 4 layers of news paper, My question is can I use brown cardboard instead?
Thank you for your video! We live in a mountain foothill area where we get some ferocious canyon winds. What is to keep this box from blowing away? Thank you
When is a good time to plant in NY? We had a very mild winter this season. Also is chicken manure too rich to use as fertilizer?
cool idea ✨ i did 1 box with 3 tatters im surprised already growing 👀
Thinking try this with 3 diff types of seeds of tomato 😎
Wait. Who doesn’t like potatoes?!
Very clever idea!
What keeps your box from blowing away in the wind?
Today i am starting potatoes in a cardboard box! Just doing it for fun. I actually have two potaoe boxes that my husband built me (2'x2'x2') that is just a frame that we add precut wood to the sides as they grow up and you just simply remove each plank to harvest, super simple…however I made the mistake of sitting 3 bulbs of garlic into my crate of about 3 lbs potato's in my pantry and the whole bin grew eyes super fast!!! Guess who is going to have potato's coming out of their ears!!! 😂
Hi Mark, was curious to know I'm in Illinois. When is the best time to plant your potatoes in the Box outside in your yard?
What's the purpose of growing potatoes inside the paper box? Isn't it the same growing them directly on the ground without the box?
The Pandemic gave me a collection of boxes. I wanted to plant potatoes in the front corner of my yard because my backyard is full, but the homeless people love to steal everything not nailed down. When I saw this video I realized it was a great idea because no one would want a cardboard box full if dirt with a weed looking plant growing in it…I'm hoping.
I'm going to try just one box to see how long it will survive. And no…I don't have a front yard fence. Yes, I live in a high variety of foot traffic because I'm on a corner lot across from the city's main downtown park. This is only a test, but if it works I hope to start planting cherry tomatoes in a box for the school kids to pick. PLUS, I have the school bus stop on the side of my house which runs twice a day. Wish me luck everyone because I'm a granny who loves to grow vegetables to share.
Is that enough of just 4 inch of leaves as a growing media
in this small box ?
Should I fill it with more worm cast or just a soil ?
Thanks for showing us how to grow potatoes in cardboard boxes. It's perfect for me in rented space. Now I have to figure out how to avoid bugs. Does planting marigolds with the potatoes help? or another plant? I'm older so have to keep it simple?
What season is it time to plant?
I just learned so much! I'm excited to do this! Thank you for this video.
Just planted mine yesterday in a cardboard box❤
Only 4 inches soil on top of potatoes? Then how many inches of dried leaves? When to grow potatoes In Maryland? Thanks
Very informative. Going to give it a go
Hello! Just planted some! Thank you for this video! How often do I water it?? I've never grown potatoes before……
Are freezing (25 degrees projected tonight) temps going to affect my potatoes if I planted them today without looking at the weather first?! I’m hoping the cardboard protects against it, but is it necessary to blanket on top of that? Please somebody give me peace of mind 😬 👉👈
How do you store potatoes in the winter? So they don't go bad fast best time might have with even store-bought potatoes that go bad fast they have a odor
Um… those coffee grounds are acidic. It adds acidity to the soil. A little sulfur will do the same and if you happen to be near a salt water source, the sulfur counters the salt in the soil also.
I have never had luck with store bought potatoes 🥴. This year, I bought seed potatoes and MAN OH MAN! I can't wait to see what kind of harvest I get… So exciting😁
Do you water the patoto in the boxes
Can u do sweet potatoes?
At what season can you plant the potato ?
