MORE Front Yard Finishing Touches

This morning we added some more crucial finishing touches snd evergreen structure. Massive box balls now anchor key areas and smaller ones were added to the boxwood villages by the front steps. #gardendesign #boxwood #cottagestyle #landscapingideas #memorialmarathon

  1. Monty don and Alan titchmarsh are but 2 of many master British gardeners.

Monty don does have a series of, I think, it’s 80 (not less) gardens around the world. What you or anyone thinks is a garden in usa vs Japan or India etc maybe be quite different. His series on rensissance gardens is great as well as the latest series on gardens in the Adriatic – Venice Greece and Croatia.

Regarding gardens around the World Series, if they can all differ in many aspects as a garden, then a messy not fully grown out garden in Oklahoma is can differ and be just perfect as is at the moment or whenever.

  2. Oh, Linda, the front gardens are just looking so WONDERFUL! I LOVE the shots from the sidewalk looking up. Your beautiful stone planters with the yellow pansies on either side of the steps leading up to the cottage are LOVELY. I LOVE the windowbox and don't think it looks messy at all! I am just so amazed at all you have achieved! Putting in more mature trees has really made the difference! They help create such an illusion of time. What I mean is they make you think and feel like they have been in place for several years, not months. I just LOVE all the color combos and everything you have done! Sending you and Stewart much love and blessings…

  3. As I always say ——- to each his own————-EVERYONE JUST DO WHAT YOU LIKE AND KNOW WE ALL LIKE DIFFERENT THINGS——HAPPY SPRING AND MOTHERS DAY TO YOU LINDA

  4. Linda. The yard is coming right along. You have done a great job. It is looking lovely. As plants grow in more it will become more beautiful. I see your concept. So nice!!

  5. Enjoyed todays video so many decisions but so far it looks beautiful . I will def watch the consolidated video . Say hi to Stewart

  6. Absolutely lovely 🌹🍁🌹so glad your doing real grass 🍁 your garden is so beautiful well well done

  7. I wouldn’t worry about the grass on the other side of the sidewalk either because dogs will probably be relieving themselves all along that area. Was Victor fertilizing in the background?

  8. Linda, you help our well being by inspiring us on many levels. I so look forward to your updates. You and Stewart brighten our days . The boxwoods along the steps look amazing.

  9. I LIKE THE FLOWER BOX————IT DOES NOT LOOK PREDICTABLE LIKE MOST———-LEAVE IT 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊

  10. I’ve been watching Monty Don for many! Many years! Wonderful man and gardener. There many great gardeners in England.

  11. Monty Don is a great gardener! Wanted to add a warning for your hose too. It will get really hot in the summer so be mindful of that when you grab it as well as having to wait longer for cool water to flow from it. Just an FYI so you don’t get finger burns. 😊

  12. Sooooo smart, to bring all those boxwoods with you, too. It is such a joy to see you already able to go about clipping and tending your beloved plants. ☺️

  13. The garden is looking so pretty and you looked so cute in your hat and striped top, Linda!

  14. What do u think about extending the brick border from the steps onto the walkway in the treelawn for continuity?

  15. You are an inspiration to our generation!!! I ❤ watching you tackle this amazing project, never, never make another comment about having help, OMG just supervising this project should be over the top exhausting. That being said, from where I sit, in my living room in Western Ky., I believe the right side, I believe towards the east needs a little more weight and not necessarily in the form of spears. I know from following you for many years you said you would not use arborvitaes but I believe they would provide weight, height and stop the eye from falling down that hillside and Linda they blow beautifully in the wind. Maybe the ones at the Fairy Tale House did not get enough air circulation. I’m thinking 3 at staggering heights, just a thought. I can’t believe I’m giving you advice lol 😂 😂😂

  16. I just love your garden. I use moss phlox in areas were grass should grow. I did it because I am not a fan of grass. And the most phlox spreads like mint and can handle summer heat and comes back every year and no maintenance required.

  17. Hi!! What mulch would you suggest to mix with pea gravel if the type of mulch you use is not available?

  18. I agree, the window box looks messy. And, admittedly, it wouldn't have been my vision, but I love it. It's Linda's style – refined, yet free. The juxtaposition of formal and cottage. Everything looks beautiful – keep doing you!

  19. How do you maintain all those boxwoods? Do you do it yourself or have someone else do it? What tools do you use?
