  1. For 7b, I love my Paul’s Gold Cypress. Love the billowy gold foliage! I just let them go & they stay in a global form, no pruning. ❤

  2. Just ordered the boxes …a Mother's Day gift for me. I was going to purchase these years back but they were so expensive that I didn't…. Thanks for making my day!

  3. Would you be willing to share where you bought your skirt. It’s lovely and I’ve been trying to find one like it.

  4. Trenches are good looking but I disagree whole-heartedly about Bermuda grass. You’re correct that Bermuda runners will jump over and root in the garden bed. However, the roots of Bermuda go down very deep (a foot or more in my garden) and will send out a tangled mess of runner/roots that will never die. They grow under concrete, gravel, rocks, small stumps, etc. I live a few miles from you and have been dealing with this “weedy” grass for decades, literally, and have learned that though it does well in Oklahoma, many think it was a big mistake for Oklahoma to ever go crazy planting it. Eventually, one has to just give in to it and make the most of it growing where it wants. And it does grow very, very quickly. There are some plants it will avoid to some extent like my bearded irises but it loves my kniphofia. Nature is a mystery and I wish you luck with that old Bermuda grass. As for shade provided by trees, full plants and decks, it stops it temporarily only.

  5. Cannot order the boxwoods from Amazon. Comment was not available to ship to your area 🥲 Live in Northern California

  6. We have planted coral drift roses. In our Northeast Texas area, these are beautiful plants that continue to thrive in the hot Texas sun all summer. A quick pruning rejuvenates them. Also, gorgeous in fall. Would a Coral Drift rose work with your color scheme?

  7. Pretty darn cool how u planted ur topiaries in the pot in the ground 👍👍 by the patio. Will u dead head those salvia ?

  8. Oh Linda, my back hurts just watching you do the trenching with a regular shovel! Get yourself a manual lawn edger for this job. Much easier and gives you a cleaner edge.

  9. My husband and I are both verybrelived yoi have a plan in place to control the Bermuda. We will both be watching to see how well it works. We hope great! Thanks for giving us the update.

  10. Pittosporium “golf ball” is a great boxwood alternative and one of my fav evergreens…they maintain a natural ball shape without any pruning at all 😊

  11. I bought my first ever Proven Winner plant – was so excited haha – a salvia – on special 1/2 price – thought it was a perennial one than i looked i up and its an annual here – so i paid $6 USD for an annual lol Hope it lasts more than one month – so much for my great bargain 😂 Love the plants you bought. 🥀🥀🥀

  12. I never realized Amazon had plants for sale until a couple of weeks ago when I was looking for Miss Lemon Abelias. None of my local nurseries had it, so I started an online search. Even Southern Living Plants was out of it! And then the Amazon link popped up. With trepidation, I ordered 2, knowing if they looked terrible I could always return them. I was sooo impressed! They were well packed, with plastic bags around the pot to hold in soil and moisture. And they’re every bit as pretty as I’d hoped!

  13. I recommend planting pittispurmum (maybe spelt wrongly) but great to add to flower arrangements 😊

  14. I'm SO pleased that I saw your extra post (on Sunday? Monday?) I immediately ordered a Cranberry Creek boxwood as I need to replace a boxwood and when I went to the site a day later they were Out-Of-Stock!

  15. I'm assuming that the Cranberry Boxwood has sold out, because your link takes me to Green Velvet boxwood, and it is not in the cone-shape like you say yours came. I missed out on that great deal, unless you have a new link ? Love your updates on your front lawn and cottage garden.

  16. Mugo pines, plum yews (deer resistant!), blue prince and princess hollies, green giants, nellie stevens hollies, cryptomeria, camelias, azaleas, rhododendrums, gold dust plants, magnolia trees, blue spruce, creeping jenny & angelina sedum. Have regular dwarf nandinas but love the lemon ones you have. I have never seen those before!

  17. My two Buxus Cranberry Creek Boxwoods arrived today and they are so beautiful! Each of them are tall, healthy, and an incredible bargain. They were expertly packaged and arrived quickly. Thank you for the great tip, Linda! I saw smaller and less healthy ones on sale at Home Depot for $75.

  18. Camellias, gardenias, star jasmine, tea olive and hollies are favorite evergreen shrubs that I have in my yard, here in Georgia…

  19. Linda, love your gardens! Where is your straw hat from you are wearing whee edging?!!!!!! I’ve been looking for a hat just like that!
