Vt here. It's got to get in soon for me cause I only have every other weekend off. Prob tomorrow. Planting in November sucks cause cold fingers sucks. Wanting those big bulbs like I got last year.
FYI There is lots of uptalking in this video. It sounds like a video of questions about garlic with much more asking than telling..
Hi. I live in NY. Is it ok if I use organic store bought garlic? Thanks for your comprehensive garlic vids. ✌
I love garlic remember that I have to grow everything in a trash can
Scapes Are very tasty when cut soft.
I planted tomatoes between garlic rows and had excellent results.
Okay! I’ll do it your way now….now meaning this fall, which is now. Did it all wrong by planting in the spring with all the other veggies and they never developed cloves. Still eatable but no cloves. We have sandy loam so that’s a plus so I’m looking forward to trying your tips. If that don’t work….there’s always Gilroy here in California 😂
garlic scapes aren't all that bad, they can be used to make a delicious garlic scape pesto
What kind of watering schedule do you use? I think I drown my garlic last year
Great video do you ever put hay on top of your soil?
Thanks for another great video! I got my hardneck bulbs this week and I am planting this weekend. First time for garlic!
You made a great garlic growing vid until you threw out the beautiful dandelion root and greens without speaking of its fantastic nutrient value also. Thank you for the vid
One point while you were talking about scapes….they're delicious! By themselves or mixed with other vegetables and/or foods.
And those natty little cloves that are too small to peel and eat…..stick them in a separate pot and let them sprout, hack off their tops and toss them in a salad, scrambled eggs out of the pan, embed in a grilled cheese sandwich😋😋😋😋😋
you should be eating those dandelion greens
One planted clove grows into how many bulbs on average?
Watched this video a year ago and followed your advice and had the best harvest I've ever had in the 5 years I've been growing it! Simple and straightforward.. back for a refresher before this years planting! 🙂 Thank you!!
planted garlic first time this year. we have a warm spell with good rain and they already grown quite a bit out my mulch. maybe i was a bit early with planting.
This is the first year I'm trying to grow garlic. I went with hardneck because I really enjoy the scapes . The PNW has been so warm this fall though – worried it might not get cold enough. Do they depend on a very cold winter?

Thank you for this video. Do you have a video on planting garlic in warmer climates?
Our garlic harvest was great last year, we’re trying to keep everything consistent for this year. Like you mentioned, a couple small mistakes can compound. Thanks for sharing!
And the scapes are delicious
This is a video with a comprehensive and probably one of the most informative idea I have watched.
If you keep planting bigger and bigger bulbs how big can the garlic get?
Oh man, when you tore out the dandelion.. my heart was screaming. So beautiful and lush. Where i live in the high mountains of mexico, our dandelion is very tiny and as a herbalist, i treasure this little guy so much ❤️❤️ thanks for the tips!
Im growing garlic in the north and getting slightly bigger harvests each year. Finally planted 80 cloves this year after starting with 25 cloves. I get 3-4 cloves per head. This year I finally got nice size cloves. Cant wait for next year. I made garlic scape salt this year. A tasty bonus!

Your presentations are always good. You get right to the point with well organized information. Great graphics, excellent recordings, no rambling stories. Just good advice !!👍
Thanks
ou have super garden! I like it. But I do it so https://youtu.be/yXl5dAB5YJo
What is the production per acer
In California it can be planted in January or February. If you miss the window for fall planting, ensure that your seed garlic gets 40 days at or below 40°F before planting, or the lack of vernalization will mean the bulbs will not differentiate (divide into separate cloves).
You didn't mention the soaking in sea kelp. Does it really help?
I’m in New York. If I stratify in the freezer for a month and plant in the beginning of April, will I be able to harvest good garlic that way?
Loved your tutorial.
I think your an absolute natural:

Greetings from England UK
I noticed some garlic we got from the store was already on the verge of sprouting, so I planted one a few days ago (indoors so not worried about weather) and it's already sprouting
A well done vid
I freeze the garlic scapes and make my basil pesto with them. I consider them an added bonus.
What if I have put the cloves into the soil in late winter and now summer is yet to come? Should I wait for another winter and spring before harvesting? Or give it up?
4 inches deep works the best for me.
I wonder if I killed mine by transplanting them from one outdoor planting bed to another……
Interesting I live in a different climate so planting season is quite different. I plant in the autumn harvest in mid summer.
Just wanna say, from all the way here in Kea’au, Hawaii that I absolutely LOVE your videos❣️❣️
