Another amazing video from Our Backyard Garden!! Thank you! I love watching!!
Hi dear! You have grown beautiful healthy seedlings, I liked it!
It is a little cold, so the tomatoes have a slightly yellow leaf color. Warm days will fix that. Have a good day!
Hi Leigh! I'm so eager to see all the tomatoes that you'll grow this summer and what you do with all of them!
Wow, that cold front is taking a long time to clear out. We had that a few days back because of that Omega jet stream.
Iām growing that grape de inverno? tomatoe also. Itās not a true grape so weāll see how we like it.
Iām hurried to get everything out of the house, couldnāt take it anymore. So much easier out in GH except for adjusting temps.
I see you have a jungle also. I purposely delayed starting in hopes of not potting on and when I do they get massively tall. I did a couple varieties so far, but way behind and those in the solo cups are huge.
I need a supply of sticks and as I right this I just remembered I do have marshmallow sticksālightbulb moment š. I havenāt had time to take them outside to strengthen up because Iām running like crazy to get ahead of rain which so far was only 1/4ā. I think tonight we may get missed again.
So much to do and found bulbs that should have been in and the biggest problem is running out of room planting out to make more room and get those poor plants out of packs so I donāt have to re-pot them. Having such a time with one or two not getting water in trays inside and outside. The atomic grape tom is the one that is struggling so need to get it potted and check roots.
I tended to overwater in the GH because of that cold snap, then sun and the heater and sun can zap the moisture, but it must have been humid enough as they are pretty wet.
I have 7 grape/cherry type toms and about 14 heirloom, slicer and paste tomatoes and will bag some blossoms to save seed as Iām sure I will find some winners this year. When you only get 10-15 seeds itās worth it to save them. I use to throw out runts and now check to see if it was one I only had a few of and pot them up.
We will be 60*F with overcast tomorrow and will be making up care boxes for several people. I think I should get some disposable cups as many are in pots I will be reusing next year and may not get them back.
Once everyone has what they need I will give to a friend who is starting a community garden. I have a lot of onions and celery besides various toms and peps. I blame it on bad cabin feverš
Iām not pruning the toms because I just canāt keep up so I will take a few here and there to increase air. Those suckers turn into branches in a day I swear then itās confusing what needs pinchedš . We get the wilt/blight every year. Itās just in the air and the cool nights warm days. I trim from the bottom up about a foot, mulch and still get it, but thankfully it doesnāt kill the plant off at least not until I harvest.
Happy gardening and may we all have endless places to plantš
If I didnāt have to barricade every plant from wildlife I could find all kinds of room. So fencing is on the list. Z5a, WI.
PS, I have a ton of onions and just remembered I started some leeks and bunching onions in winter sow to see if they would be a close match. They would do ok, but not nearly as big as indoors.
I just planted mine today ā¤
