Master Gardeners Graduation Day ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿผโ€๐ŸŽ“ and My Final Thoughts on the Program!

Welcome Gardeners! After 16 weeks, 30 minute presentation and a test, I am now officially a MASTER GARDENER! This was such a fantastic opportunity and I am so proud of accomplishing this dream! I wanted to document the journey to make sure that anyone who was thinking about taking the course themselves has the information to know what is involved! Hopefully this helped! ๐ŸŒธ Enjoy!

  1. You are knocking them out the box! Iโ€™m still trying to get over the great success of the gardening tour and you have graduated the MASTER GARDENERS class. I hope you are proud cause I sure am. Congratulations with that exceptional score!

  2. Congratulations on completing the program! Youโ€™ve inspired me to do a master gardener program too and Iโ€™ve already reached out to the organization here in Indiana that works through Purdue University. I think itโ€™s going to be awesome and the classes start in August. Looking forward to seeing your new channel and all the cool things that you do as you complete your volunteer hours for the coming year. 50 hours sounds like a lot, but Iโ€™m sure youโ€™re going to make it seem like a breeze to get done. Congrats again!! ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ˜Š

  3. If volunteer hours count as going to someone garden and giving advice or critique โ€ฆ my tiny garden is open to you in yolo county! ๐Ÿ˜ let me know! ๐Ÿ˜‰

  4. What a fantastic achievement to become a master gardener. Congratulations Janey! Im thrilled for your success. Your love of gardening spills over with every video and I can't wait for all your gardening ideas you will be sharing in the future. Im so happy. I discovered your channel. !

  5. What an accomplishment, Janey. Congratulations! This was SO helpful to watch. I had applied to the MG program last fall but had to withdraw before my interview because I found out I had to have a hip replacement in January. So I've been thinking about whether or not I should reapply this year. One thing that makes me hesitate is my own lack of experience, at least compared to the gardeners I've been getting to know. In your class, did you have members with a wide variety of experience?

  6. Wahoo, congratulations. Where did that 16 weeks go๐Ÿ˜ฎ. Big achievement with everything else you have going on. ๐Ÿ˜Š

  7. Congratulations Janey! My heart is bursting with pride for you. What an accomplishment! You have come such a long way in a very short time. ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ’

  8. Congratulations Janey!! I've been following you for a while now, and I am really proud of you and your accomplishments. Thank you for always sharing, great useful information. I learn so much from you. โค๏ธ ๐Ÿ’™ ๐Ÿ’œ ๐Ÿ’–

  9. Congrats Janey!! I totally plan on trying to join our local MG when my kids are older and I have more time. It gives me something to look forward to when I know I'll be missing my babies! ๐Ÿ˜‚ Thank you for the great overview. Now girl go relax!!

  10. Great job Janey!! Well doneโค๏ธ๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŒท๐ŸŒทYou did a fantastic job!! Thanks for sharing the journey ๐Ÿ˜

  11. Congratulations Master Gardener Janey! You are living proof that if you follow your bliss, you put yourself on a path that has been there all along. Your passion and enthusiasm for gardening will serve your community so well!! ๐Ÿ’š

  12. Hello Master Gardener. I have a question. What type of Nematode can I purchase to help control Japanese Beatle in their pupae and larvae stage? I'm so tired od them on my roses and read that Nematodes can help control the Japanese Beatle population by attacking them in their younger life cycle under ground; but I don't know which ones to buy. I know this isn't an overnight fix, it will take a couple of years or a year to start seeing a decline and I'm okay with that. Can you help? FYI Super proud of you setting goals ans them knocking them out of the park. You are very inspiring and encouraging โค๏ธ

  13. Congratulations! You've accomplished so much! I've often thought I'd like to be a Master Gardener but have never been at a point in life where I could commit to both the training AND the volunteer hours required. Will they let your You Tube channel be part of your required hours? You spend WAY more than 50 hours a year providing educational content on gardening. That should certainly count for something! I'm so glad you've been able to follow your dream and make gardening such a big part of your life!

  14. Congratulations! I had always dreamed of becoming a master gardener but the amount of time required to maintain โ€œmaster gardenerโ€ status via volunteer hours just wasnโ€™t going to work for me in my current phase of life. Here in Georgia, most people in these classes are retired folks and Iโ€™m in my 30โ€™s with young kids. I ended up doing the โ€œMaster Naturalistโ€ course through UGA instead which didnโ€™t require any volunteer hours. It was such a great program and I really enjoyed it! Iโ€™ve let go of the need to be a master gardener. But I do think itโ€™s a great program-maybe when my kids are out of the house Iโ€™ll change my mind. Who knows!โค

  15. Janey congratulations. New to your channel, learning to much. The swoop from 2022 is how I discovered your channel. I was hooked.

  16. Congratulations Janey, so well deserved! You worked so hard while also living your everyday busy life! You will be able to pass your knowledge on to your girls for sure and who knows, they may get the Garden Bug as well! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ

  17. Wonderful program! I highly recommend it. You never stop learning about gardening. And you meet so many wonderful people in your community. Youโ€™ll create lasting relationships. I graduated from the Loudoun County Master Gardener program in 2006.

  18. Thank you for posting about your experience. Iโ€™ve been considering this for a long time and following along with your experience has given me the courage to go for it!
