  1. Oh! I am so glad you mentioned when you planted last year, I have bought some & I have not gotten them planted yet 😢 But it is my project for next week!

  2. Unroll tubing spool as if it were a tire rather than pull end of tube from the spool. That way you avoid the spring-up bumps in the line.
I learned that from Laura's husband, Aaron, when she asked him how to avoid those annoying pop ups. 😊

  3. Love you keep it really Jenny! “Pop a Squat” 😆 Because of You and Laura, I too am trying Dahlias this year. So far good results.

  4. I love that you keep it real Jenny. So relatable. Real life happens and we all have areas the weeds just be living their best weed life 😁

  5. Please be aware that different companies of drip irrigation are sized differntly. Stay with the same company when buying supplies.

  6. Heat your tube up with a lighter and it will slide right in. Tip came from my husband after my hands were about to die!!! Lol!

  7. Howdy Jenny, thanks for bringing me along one of many things you have to tackle. Your garden looks gorgeous 🤩🌹🌼🏡 have a blessed day!!!

  8. Whew, trying to poke through drip tubing is nearly impossible for me. I’m going back to my regular irrigation emitters because my hands can’t take repairing drip. Your dahlia’s should be glorious:)

  9. Great video then stripes in the back looking kinda of rough I wonder who did them lol from your favorite nephew

  10. Good morning Jenny. Your Dahlia’s are looking good. We just planted Dahlia’s in our garden and they are doing good so far. We’re in a zone 8a in North Carolina.

  11. I don't have much hand strength for putting drip tubing together so I warm it with a BBQ Lighter. I am careful not to melt the tubing.

  12. My mom bought me a dahlia a few years ago. One morning, I noticed something had been eating on it. The next morning, more was eaten.. I couldn't find any bugs on it at all. I thought it must be at night then. So I brought out a flash light with me at night and there were earwigs covered all over the plant.. it was dead in 2 days. I couldn't believe it because I had never experienced anything eating a plant like that and having it dead in a matter of 4-5 days. I didn't even know earwigs cause damage to plants.

  13. We're dahlia crazy! Yes, they are addictive! Your's are off to a fantastic start! You are going to have a beautiful dahlia area! 😀

  14. The third maintenance item for Dahlias is dead heading. It's not required, but part of the addiction is seeing the new blooms explode when you prune off the blooms that are past their prime!

  15. An idea to help with expanding drip systems on cooler days is to use a lighter to softner the tube, just enough to make it pliable. 😀 love your channel ❤

  16. I hate to be the one asking a none gardening question. However, what is the brand of watch you are wearing? Also, how is Headward?

  17. Jenny, how does it work when the kids help you outside?

Do they get paid for it, or is it just part of their household chores.

  18. I’m in 7b GA and my first dahlia blooms are opening now. My tubers overwintered in the ground too. In addition to the snail/slug treatment do you do anything else to prevent insects? I had problems last year that I think were mites but I saw earwigs too.

  19. Enjoy your videos and looking forward to seeing the beautiful blooms. I too use T post in the garden. If you use an old dust pan to protect the plants, spray the post with a can of flat black spray paint and as the black sting, that helps the post fade into the background.

  20. What is your favorite kind of mulch? Hardwood? Dyed brown? Do you ever have any problems with termites in your mulched beds? I did for the first time this year! Yikes!

  21. Concerning your bulbs, do you bring tulip and daffodil bulb up after they bloom or do you leave them in the ground? I have read different ideas on that.

  22. It is just serendipitous that we are almost in the same boat with dahlias. A friend gave me one left over dahlia two years ago. Didn’t know diddly about dahlias so plopped it in an open space near my mailbox and watched that thing take off. Called Explosion, it produce one bloom that year and lived up to its name. Thoroughly impressed, I moved it to a better spot, and the next year it became a show stopper. Left in the ground, nothing ate it, no special watering, and people stopped to ask me what it was all the time. So, I bought three more yellows, and they did the same thing. Moved the yellows to what I think of as the dahlia patch, last fall, and bought 10 more smaller varieties, which I planted there and throughout the rest of my garden. They are all thriving, and I am waiting with bated breath to see them pop. What a find. Beauty, color, variety and critter resistant. Understand perfectly the anticipation.

  23. Thanks for sharing your Dahlia suggestions and thoughts! I'm starting my own small Dahlia space this year at our new home.. I had great success with a few bulbs at my old house and am looking forward to having them again in the new, "blank space". I'm loving how much y'all are working on the berm, too! WOW!

  24. Always learn different things from you at Gardening with Creekside and GA. However, we can relate more to the Southern Humidity and climate joys and challenges! Will say that the more that planting area grows, the bigger your "personal" irrigation parts and pieces box will get! At least hat's what happened in our yard! I have a double sided flat-ish one that is 1/2 inch on one side and 1/4 inch parts on the other. One note, but we all have our preferences, we had to use tape vs the "figure 8" plastic end pieces for 1/2 inch irrigation line, and when we wanted to drain the lines or connect a piece to them, they were icky sticky after a Southern summer…so I bought more figure 8s!
