Amazing how nice the grass area is. I have not cut my yard in almost 3 weeks here in Chicago. Definitely try to water it properly but it is just not going anywhere. Time to totally switch to the rye grass 😝

That soil looks like it could use some serious amendments (peat moss, composted manure, etc.). Hopefully your plants thrive!
Grass on grass
I wish my spring seeding looked this good (SE Massachusetts)! We got a decent amount of washout because of an unexpected rainstorm and I threw down more seed to try and fill in the bare spots as much as possible. There are a a variety of weeds also growing. Should I try and tackle them with something like Tenacity during the spring/summer or should I wait until fall when I overseed?

Re: your downspout — you could do a couple rain barrels with a diverter or an overflow system to capture water off the roof… and also direct the overflow where you want to do the rain garden. House is coming together nicely!!

Hey Ryan, wanted to know what’s phosphate you’re using on the ryegrass. I’ve rolled the dice and decided to not to do it last season on my rye yard and totally regretted it. Just curious what you run?
How narrow and long the front of your property is would be perfect for a short par 3 hole! Perfect excuse to purchase a fairway mower and mow low on a big scale!?🤔😏
