  1. We need to open the blinds. We live in a residential neighborhood where there are a lot of dog walkers. Many of them peep through windows. We tend to leave blinds down but that is the direction for all the sun. Maybe they’ll get tired of looking.

  2. I can’t live with japandie (sp?) scandi or anything too minimal. I need to see my things around me and these styles make me feel too messy when I leave my things out.

  3. Neutral palette is very flat for me.
I love having colour around my home. My home has 4 bedrooms and each one has a different coloured accent wall: blue/indigo, dark green, cherry red and honey yellow. The accent colour is repeated in the decor, bedding and wall art for rhythm and cohesion. My bedroom has a deep cherry (blue undertone) accent wall but is balanced with a muted smokey olive green upholstered bedhead.
So each room has its own positive vibe but not overwhelming to my senses.
In the open plan space (kitchen, dining and lounge room) l have warm white walls and colours come through in the wall art, cushions, throws and rug.
I daresay a person who enjoys neutrals, may find my eclectic home over stimulating.
Sentimental objects tied to sad memories is something l've gradually learnt to let go without guilt. This alone has made my home feel more peaceful.
Totally agree with opening the curtains and letting natural light in.
    Sunlight improves a 'down' mood.

  4. Clutter and kids toys scattered on the floor. Also, my husband doesn't use the hallway hooks to hang up his work hat and jacket. Constant clutter and I'm tired of nagging to keep tidy.

  5. Awesome topic!!! I have been feeling like my living room is kind of lackluster and it actually does make me feel blah! I need to add a bit of color. Right now it’s too bland. BTW Kiva, I’ve been admiring the wall art behind you! It’s amazing! May I ask where to got it?

  6. Do any of you guys actually say curTINS. I know Arvin does, and Kiva, but nobody I've ever talked to. BTW, are you all hearing strong volume changes in this video?

  7. Natural light is such a huge one, I moved from an apartment that only had windows on the east side, and I’m not a morning person! Now we have light coming from the west and the north and holy crap, I feel sooooooo much better. Just like a little looser and better able to deal with shit lol😊

Edit: the idea of just picking a design style is WILD to me. But I do understand that not everyone has strong feelings about these things lol I just can’t imagine it

  8. My husband wants a TV in the bedroom, and I don’t. I told him the bedroom is for 2 things, and watching tv is not one of them.

  9. Sooo disappointed you are promoting Talkiatry. There have been numerous exposees of how dangerous
These on-line remote sessions can be to vulnerable people.

  10. I love your content! I also live in Pittsburgh. A few years ago I decided to take down my black out curtains and put white curtains that allow natural light to come in. It's greatly helped to improve my mood!

  11. Sorry but don't use Talkiatry. Just look ip reviews online, dont take my word for it. Horrible experience, dr was late, didnt use a headset and didnt even point the phone at their face. Treated me like a child and an idiot and gave me extremely wrong information. Please do yourself a favor and try somewhere local if you can

  12. Please do an episode on paint! I had my son paint the living room, bought gray paint and blue is the color it turned out, tried again with same results. I'm used to it now but wasn't happy

  13. KB, I love your ideas but you speak so fast, it all becomes a blur…I think a lot of people miss your message because they can’t keep up with you. Know it’s hard to change but just a FYI❤

  14. I accidentally bought a paint colour because the name sounded nice and it was a pale off white, however, it turned out to be a grey, I lived with it for a while but it was making me depressed every time I woke up in the mornings it was then I realised the power of colour especially the wrong colour for you. As soon as I changed it all was fine.

  15. I've been sad for other things lately… I wish it was the house at least I could take care of that.

  16. I agree about color. Years ago in my first house, I wanted to paint my hallway like this beautiful terra-cotta. I let my friend and the lady at the paint store talked me into getting a much lighter version of the color because they thought it would be too dark. My whole house was peach! It made me sick, I honestly couldn’t stand to go in there. I didn’t want people to visit. And finally, one Saturday went to a paint store and bought 5 gallons of paint and spent Saturday painting over every bit of peach. I honestly couldn’t even think straight with it on my walls.
