Garden Tour of a Mature Shade Garden | Gardening with Creekside

Join me for a garden tour of my Mama’s mature shade garden filled with a wide variety of hostas, hydrangeas, and other shade-loving perennials and shrubs. What makes this garden even more unique is that there is no irrigation, yet it is lush and thriving. Without a doubt, this is my favorite garden to visit!

  1. Jenny tell your Mom her gardens are all so beautiful.. a labor of love is definitely evident here. 💚
please ask her to tell us the steps on keeping a Boston fern (I think that is the one she has inside the terra cotta pot) alive when she brings it to the garage.
    .
I tried saving all my ferms last winter, hauled them all downstairs, lay them be in a dormant state, watered sparingly as Pinterest instructions stated. March I started watering regularly, green was coming on new fronds. April I divided them and put in new containers with fresh soil, fern fertilizer.. and it all went down hill after that!! LOST every single one of them!! 😩
    .
Your parents are both talented, I love the wood table made from the tree trunk, the whimsical things throughout.. my kind of garden. The trellis with Jasmine.. GORGEOUS!! 💚

  2. I have natural perennial ferns in my backyard. Love them. If my trees keep falling apart in winter storms, I might not have a shade garden!

  3. Such a beautiful garden! Absolutely love everthing about your parents garden. I especially love the paths. It makes you want to keep exploring, to see what's around the bend. Please, thank your parents for this lovely tour, and thank you Jenny for taking us along. God bless.❤

  10. Thank you for sharing this enchanting garden. your mama is a miracle worker. I am starting to work on my woodsy area and create a shade garden. Such inspiration, thank you, my question, though, is, how does she deal with the deer?

  11. At minute 25:23 you mentioned a color used for the Savannah urn, it was ancient age is this the color it comes in or does she add color if so where can you get this ?

  12. This is one of my favorite videos you do. Please thank your mom for us. I now have an Oakleaf Hydrangea in my yard because of her. My hope is that it gets as big and beautiful as hers.

  16. I love whimsy.
When I had a mature maple tree cut down, I asked the forester to save me some pieces. He left me the section where the tree forked (main reason I had it removed). I turned it upside down and it looks like a man's lower torso standing knee-deep in the dirt.
I plan on getting a thrifted belt to screw onto the top (waist) and move the stump to my front yard so neighborhood kiddos can sit in it when they head to the nearby park. 😆
