tropical storm newton might come around your area in arizona and strong winds might be present i heard from ktla5 news
in my opinion, the amount of material you laboured would get you much better results of holding water for longer if you were just keep burying wood chips in a large pit and get plants shade and ground cover for it
Whats with the shirt off all the time ?
smart
dude I have so many rocks in my backyard it's crazy and this just gave a great idea! thanks man!
My Uncle, across the big pond, had something similar…and as you know, "It's a Sunburnt Country"…drought was prevailing and someone put him into the local council for watering when he shouldn't. He showed the inspector a couple of plastic silos where he collected rain water and "grey water". The tanks were hooked up to a pump creating 80 – 100 psi…so he was hosing. Should be mandatory as should solar on all new residential homes…
just a heads up but I have clicked on your gardening link off of a few different videos and get a 404 error and page not found. when you have some time you might want to check that out… thanks for all the good videos I live right down the road from you and really want to get the ball rolling on a setup similar to yours… thanks for the motivation Jake!
Thank you so much Jake, this is the best idea i've seen yet!
Awesome!
Seventy-five percent of rain water samples now test positive for Roundup.
when plant tree it next water hole each 5 spots. if in hole it roots rote to much water. plant next hole lets roots grow into reseller right?
Rain water has some nitrates of varying proportions depending on thunders/lightening.
Totally inspired by this! I'm in a high desert in idaho with 12 inches annually. I'm wanting to capture the rain that falls on my land (it's all sloped). I love your design for roof water catchment and I intend to copy it, largely. I think this system would be even better if you had a hole drilled near the top of your barrel with piping extending into your ground catchment. So once your barrel is full from an intense rainstorm, it automatically overflows into your underground canal system. If you want more barrel water, connect two barrels with piping and the second barrel can overflow into the groundwater catchment system. You've probably already thought of this, but just haven't gotten around to it. It will make it much less maintenance for you!
i love watching this channel. A lot of awesome advice. Unfortunately I live in Western NY
you need to re upload this one so all your new fans see this.
I hope you will put English subtitles for the Deaf! I love permaculture stuff.

what the hell is going on in Arizona? three of the most amazing youtubers are from that state. Homesteadonomics, Living inside the box and Vegan Athlete; great job guys.
So happy to have discovered your channel by way of the DIY Homestead Projects channel. Really dig the positive vibes and beautiful gardening inspiration. Thanks for the video Jake!
Still like these videos I'm now gonna do something like this in my front yard but because my kids love to play in the water and would like my water to go to my plants so had to come back and give me some sort of idea to start so when next year comes it's ready for all the play mud time…… thank you Pam and Jake
great video as always bro!
Amazing to see footage of when you first started your garden to see how big its grown in just a few years.
Very good planning
I thought you were a Buddhist?
This video of yours makes me thirsty. I mean, who doesn't loves a glass of fresh and cool rain water right? 😂
You learned how to do that where? It's amazing!
I believe in higher power and maybe think god has shown himself to many cultures/languages with spiritual teachers.
Yes! Thank you. Just what I was looking for!
Why don’t you put some 1000 gal tanks.

Really nice, good information with excellent example and a gorgeous view for sore eyes.
Your yard is so cool with what you have done to use the rain for your yard. Awesome!!!
