The hedge looks fantastic and so much better than a wooden fence in my opinion. In your zone (6b right?) will you have to run irrigation to it or do you get enough rainfall that it isn’t required?
Thank you! I am in search of a privacy hedge as my side& back yard overlaps with my neighbors front yard. They have been creating a lot issues. Could you please recommend a tree or bush variety that doesn’t grow very tall (more than 6 or 7 ft) for privacy hedge? I ordered some Wintergreen Boxwood Shrub but I think it only grows 3-4 ft & is but short. Thanks in advance!

I need this Insta Hedge in my life after my neighbor had the gaul to hire a company to cut underneath my beautiful pine tree without my knowledge.
I put up an expensive privacy fence, but it could only be 4ft under the tree. I now have a tarp hanging in my tree, just so I can have privacy. Thank you for posting this video and I’m so happy for you that you can completely enjoy your garden.

The insta hedge and gardens look amazing and as you said so private. My house is on a corner lot as well. Neighbors sit on their porches and look into our yard all the time. I live on a corner lot as well, and deal with many of the same issues. Although we were fortunate to move in with a pre-existing privet hedge, we also know that it will not live forever and have worried about what we’re going to do when it finally dies—A wrought iron fence or similar will not cut it!! I love the work you have done to your yard and I really appreciate that you take real-world budget into consideration. It makes it feel doable and not simply aspirational and unattainable. Thank you for your knowledge and for offering something different than many gardening channels. I have taken a number of your suggestions over the years and have really elevated my garden to something that people passing by stop to photograph (which still shocks me! ) Looking forward to seeing how the hedge matures and the eventual keyhole garden project! 💚

You and your husband did so much work to make this hedge put in place and you're right, it will change the whole usefulness and function of your outdoor space. It looks great and having privacy now is so important plus a way to keep Grace in place too! None of us need to be able to have people see into our private spaces. I have been watching your channel from when you first started it. I always learn from you and thoroughly enjoy watching your videos. Love the Insta hedge! So happy for you that you found a great solution to your problem. I am also on a corner lot but I am up high off the road so I have lots of privacy in my backyard, I actually created a hedge from Oakleaf hydrangea which I love! I might try the Insta hedge on the other more busy side. Thank you for all the hard work you put in to making your videos. Someday I might have the ambition to start a Flower stand like you have! You are very inspiring to me!
