I need some help to figure out what’s causing the split on my Conophytum. For the context, I’m in the southern hemisphere and it’s the middle of winter here.
Is it overwatered or changing leaves?

It looks like it cracked from overwatering. It won’t split like a lithops; it will go dormant in early summer, and one or two new heads will develop in the dried-up skin of the current body. These will emerge next fall, all bright and shiny.
