What’s wrong with this Dracaena marginata? *ABSOLUTELY NOTHING*
–
It’s tempting to look at a plant imperfection by itself, regardless of environmental context, and make a diagnosis, but this is like a dog chasing its tail: you’ll never arrive at a satisfactory answer.
–
More importantly, you need to leave room for Nature. Think of your plants in this way and you will be on the path to a satisfying plant parenthood experience:
1 – *Understand your environmental conditions* – my Dracaena has lived here 2️⃣ below a skylight, getting amazingly smooth light throughout the day (averaging 300 foot-candles, peaking around 500; sun doesn’t come into direct line of sight)
2 – *Do your best with care* – at this light level, watering can be done whenever the soil is mostly dry
3 – *Let Nature take its course* – as the plant grows, the lowest leaves will fall off. 3️⃣ Pluck them off when they are done and thank them for their contribution to photosynthesis. The plant is growing exactly as it should given this environment and care (see how it comes full circle?)

If you’re ready to be enlightened, ‘The New Plant Parent’ will teach you this method of houseplant care.
