Does your basil taste bitter when it starts to flower? #basil #herbs #gardeningtips #backyardgarden

What do you think? Does your basil taste more bitter when its flowering? I have not noticed this so far so just wondering if this is a garden myth.

  1. i cook with it so i dont notice it like that. I will say it smells different depending on temps. A lot of my herbs start tasting different not exactly bad the hotter it gets :'(

  2. I've never noticed any flavor difference, but I have tried to keep up with snipping off flower buds to keep the plant going longer, however it is a constant chore and after awhile I tend to give up trying to stay ahead of it lol.

  3. Mine flowered and the leaves are tasting bitter and not at all like basil really, like a flavor I don't want or need in my food.
